Fathom Five Productions is presenting a staging of a new orginal play entitled Avalon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe beginning August 5th and starring Sean Cronin as King Arthur and Michele Martin as actress Natalie Wood. The play imagines that Wood, who drowned near Catalina Island in 1981, finds herself on the doorstep of Arthur who stories tell us was taken to the island after a battle to recover from his wounds and await a return to the throne.

The two legendary figures must help each other deal with the universal themes of love, betrayal and forgiveness. Arthur will be played by Sean Cronin, known for his intense and menacing roles in films such as The World Is Not Enough, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

Natalie is played by indie film darling Michele Martin, who this year stars in Blue, the Orlando Film Festival winning feature recently released in theatres, the highly anticipated horror sequel Coffin 2, and the gritty true crime story The Last Rampage starring Robert Patrick.

The show runs at daily from August 5 to 12 at 9:50 AM at Paradise in the Vault. Tickets are available at edfringe.com or at the box office. For more information visit avalontheplay.com.
