The first thing that strikes me about Sofie Hagen's presence on stage at the start of the gig is that she doesn't seem entirely comfortable up there. She eases herself into it and becomes visibly more relaxed as she starts her material.

The theme for this stand-up performance is Hagen discussing the best thing that has ever happened to her. We don't find this out straight away as she disgresses back to her upbringing and early teenage years to give us a bit of background.

Hagen reveals one of the most impressive things I've heard in a while - that she is the biggest Westlife fan. At first I was a little dubious, but she quickly divulged her credentials, she actively stalked the band members and used to randomly dial Dublin numbers from her home in Denmark in the hope of finding someone who could put her in touch with them. The clear highlight is her Westlife inspired fanfiction. You really haven't lived until you have heard erotic Westlife fan-fiction based on what a 13 year old girl thinks she knows about sex.

There are some slightly darker revelations in the show but Hagen doesn't appear to want to dwell on them. This is a charming little show with some downright hilarious moments that makes for a very pleasant hour of comedy.
