TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the Regional Premiere of Lauren Gunderson's SILENT SKY, directed by Meredith McDonough. An exquisite blend of science, history, and romance, SILENT SKY is the story of Henrietta Leavitt, an early 20th century astronomer struggling for recognition in a man's industry.

Leaving her Puritan family behind, Leavitt heads to Harvard to study the stars, eventually making a groundbreaking discovery that would become the basis for the pivotal work of Edwin Hubble. In an age of women's suffrage and international uncertainty, Leavitt must balance her thrilling pioneering work with her family, a burgeoning romance, and declining health, mapping her own journey through a rigid society determined to keep a woman "in her place."
