MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS Plays the Dragon Theatre, Now thru 9/7

Celebrate 75 years of Gone With the Wind with Moonlight and Magnolias at the Dragon Theatre in in downtown Redwood City, today, August 15 - September 7, 2014. Written by Ron Hutchinson and directed by Lennon Smith.

It's 1939, and legendary movie producer David O. Selznick has a problem: he's supposed to bring the epic novel Gone with the Wind to the big screen, but he fired his director and hired a screenwriter who hasn't read the book. What to do? Lock everybody in his office and eat only bananas and peanuts until the script is ready, of course! A hilarious look back at the golden age of Hollywood and the making of an iconic American film. Help us celebrate the 75th anniversary of this American classic!

Lennon Smith (Director) is a freelance director in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has directed many plays at Palo Alto Players, Dragon Productions and Pacifica Spindrift Players. Stand out projects include: March, Bay Area Premiere at Dragon Productions, Aftermath-a docudrama of Iraqi civilian experiences from the US invasion in 2003, Private Eyes-winner of Silicon Valley Small Venue Theatre Awards-Standout Comedy, Dead Man's Cell Phone, The Spitfire Grill, Sylvia, Beehive,The Musical!, Fuddy Meers and many others.
