Playwrights can now submit their new work to two upcoming Sundance Institute programs: the Theatre Lab, which will return to the Sundance Resort in Utah next Summer, and a new Playwrights Residency in Berlin next Spring for theatre artists from the Middle East/North Africa.

After a successful Lab in North Africa last summer, the annual Theatre Lab returns to its traditional home in July 2017. Continuing the Institute's five-year initiative to support theatre artists from the Middle East/North Africa, eight projects will be selected for the Lab from both the U.S. and MENA. Application information is here.

The Residency is an 11-day incubator for playwrights from MENA currently living in Europe and who are creating new theatrical projects in Arabic. Berlin will be home to the Residency because of its thriving community of expatriate MENA artists. Application information is here.
