Tickets Now On Sale for SITTING SHIVA at FringeNYC

As one of the largest theatrical events in the world, The New York International Fringe Festival boasts an impressive roster of world premieres yearly. Of them, Los Angeles native Joshua Metzger's new play Sitting Shiva will see its first three dimensional presentation this August. Christopher Scott will direct the 90 minute play. The Broadway and Regional vet cast includes Eddie Boroevich*, Neal Mayer*, and Jeffery Plunkett*. The Production Stage Manager is Katy Moore*, and the production will be designed by Joan Racho-Jansen. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association. Sitting Shiva is an AEA-approved showcase. Yale Drama Teacher Bill Connington Publishes New Book About the Alexander Technique

Newly appointed Yale School of Drama “Lecturer in Acting” Bill Connington publishes his new book today on applying the Alexander Technique to performance. The book is entitled “Physical Expression on Stage and Screen: Creating Unforgettable Performances with the Alexander Technique.” Published today in England, it will be published in the U.S. on August 14th. Brought out by famed theatrical publisher Methuen Drama, the book promises to be invaluable to the individual performer, and has been predicted to be the “go-to book” on the Alexander Technique for performers. It will also be used as a textbook by colleges and performing arts institutions nationwide. Connington is regarded as a world-expert on the Alexander Technique in general, and applying the method to performance specifically. In addition to his recent appointment to Yale, he has taught at Juilliard, NYU, and The Actors Studio MFA Program. LABA: A Laboratory for Jewish Culture, working in collaboration with choreographer Renana Raz, whose work has been called "brilliant" by the Israeli press, is pleased to announce the first-ever international production of MOTHER.NET. The show aims to take the usually isolated experience of watching YouTube videos and turns it into a public experience. A love song to his adopted city, Tom Cavanaugh's THE LAST REMNANTS OF COPS, ROBBERS & HOLYWOOD COWBOYS will have its Los Angeles premiere in the 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival from June 12th through 29th. The press preview performance will take place on June 5th at 7pm. Irish Rep Extends SEA MARKS Through 7/13

Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre announces that its current production, the revival of Gardner McKay's SEA MARKS, directed by Ciaran O'Reilly, will extend through Sunday, July 13, 2014 (the production was originally scheduled to be performed through June 15th). The romantic two-hander stars Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Xanthe Elbrick (CORAM BOY, Irish Rep's CANDIDA) and Patrick Fitzgerald (Irish Rep's GIBRALTAR). SEA MARKS began performances on April 23rd and opened on May 5th. SEA MARKS is now playing on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage of the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). (more...)
