Welcome back! Tony Award winner, and UK star, Frances Ruffelle recently moved to New York. On Sunday, she will remind the city why she's one of the theater's great stars with a special performance at The Green Room 42. Broadway's original Eponine in Les Miserables, Ruffelle's Live(s) in New York will treat fans to songs from her stage and recording career from 17th century torch songs to Sanskrit chants, and show covers to original penned tracks.

What's Laura Osnes' dream role? What's the correct way to pronounce her last name? Will we see her back on Broadway in the My Fair Lady revival? These were all questions answered by the leading lady earlier this week, when she got up close and personal with our very own Steve Schonberg. Even If you have premium seating at a Broadway musical or nightclub you still will not be able to feel that the beautiful girl with the spectacular voice performing on stage is singing just for you, and in your living room! Laura Osnes at Cafe Carlyle last night was acting and singing a few feet away from all of us in The Carlyle's legendary living room with her show called Cockeyed Optimists and as they say, you had to see it to believe it . Together with Ted Sperling and Laura's special guest Ryan Silverman they created The World of Rodgers and Hammerstein and it probably would be nominated for a Tony Award if it were in a theatre. The lucky audience that got to be up close and personal with Broadway royalty in Cafe Carlyle were at times overwhelmed with the beauty of the music being made by these three artists, who possess many theatre awards between them. So if you can join them, like all good hosts they are going to make sure there's plenty of good food, wine and conversation during your visit. You will even get to give them a hug and say goodnight to Laura, Ted, and Ryan after the show.

New York City has a talented new resident and what better way to introduce herself to the Big Apple than to debut at Cafe Carlyle. Last night Dianna Agron, the acclaimed singer, dancer and actress did just that and New Yorkers gave her a warm welcome.

BroadwayWorld had a chance to catch up with Laura Osnes this past weekend to hear about heading to Washington, D.C. and other exciting news, including the recent release of the Bandstand original cast album.

Broadway sang at The Players Club last night for the Benefit of The Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center and BroadwayWorld was there.

The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theater Education Center, a recognized 501(c)3 previously announced their inaugural fundraising event at The Player's Club, NYC on Monday, March 13. Newly confirmed to be in attendance are Lora Lee Gayer (Holiday Inn) and Michael Xavier (Sunset Boulevard).

The Oscar Hammerstein Museum & Theater Education Center, a recognized 501(c)3 announces their inaugural fundraising event at The Player's Club, NYC on Monday, March 13. The event comes on the heels of an agreement allowing Highland Farm in Doylestown, PA, where world-renowned lyricist and humanitarian Oscar Hammerstein lived and worked, to be used for museum activities. It was at Highland Farm that the iconic Rodgers and Hammerstein partnership was formed and where Hammerstein penned lyrics to musicals such as Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, The Sound of Music, and more.

Actress/singer Ana Gasteyer made her Cafe Carlyle debut last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Her engagement runs through November 5th.

The New York Pops started it's 34th season off with a glorious concert celebrating the legacy and timeless works of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. In the closing concert of his inaugural season in 2010, music director and conductor Steven Reineke celebrated the music of Lerner and Loewe and the response was so heartwarming that he decided it was the right time to revisit the material.

Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti made her Cafe Carlyle debut last night and Broadwayworld was there. The five-time Tony nominee opened the Carlyle's fall season with Tales from Soprano Isle, which featured songs from Laura's career along with humorous anecdotes and experiences that she has encountered on and off the stage and screen. Laura just completed her Tony nominated role as Amalia Balash in the hit Broadway musical She Loves Me, She also recently garnered rave reviews for her hilarious portrayal of Melania Trump on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Laura told the opening night Cafe Carlyle audience that it was not only her Cafe' debut. As she gently patted her 5 month pregnant tummy she said it was also her daughter's.

On Tuesday, September 27, Tony winner Laura Benanti (She Loves Me, Gypsy, 'Supergirl') will make her Cafe Carlyle debut serving up 'Vanilla Ice Cream' and others musical treats in a new cabaret show, Tales from Soprano Isle. Todd Almond will serve as Benanti's music director.
