WP Theater Announces World Premiere of WHERE WE STAND

WP Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, has announced that the world premiere of playwright and performer Donnetta Lavinia Grays' Where We Stand, co-presented by WP Theater and Baltimore Center Stage, will star Grays [Men on Boats, In The Next Room (or The Vibrator Play)], who will alternate select performances with David Ryan Smith (One Man, Two Guvnors; Passing Strange) beginning February 15. Directed by Tamilla Woodard (Hadestown Broadway associate director), previews begin Off-Broadway on Friday, January 31 at WP Theater with an opening night of February 11, 2020. The limited engagement at WP Theater will run through March 1, 2020 before playing Baltimore Center Stage April 2-26.

Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director | Jim Bredeson, Managing Director) today announced the cast for the next of the 2019-'20 season of REVELATION READINGS, its OBIE Award-winning series: Beaumont & Fletcher's Love Lies A-Bleeding, directed by Carl Cofield and featuring Zach Appelman, Susan Heyward, Ezra Knight, Dela Meskienyar, Howard Overshown, Bhavesh Patel, Amelia Pedlow, Cara Ricketts and more to be announced. This one-night-only event will take place on Monday December 16th at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets).

Craft Recordings has announced a special, 60th-anniversary reissue of The Sound of Musica?'Original Broadway Cast Recording. Featuring legendary stage actress Mary Martin as Maria von Trapp opposite renowned actor Theodore Bikel, the album includes such unforgettable classics as a?oeMy Favorite Things,a?? a?oeEdelweiss,a?? a?oeDo-Re-Mi,a?? a?oeClimb Ev'ry Mountaina?? and, of course, a?oeThe Sound of Music.a?? Set for a December 6th release date, the soundtrack has been deftly remastered from the original three-track tape by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound and will be available on CD or 180-gram vinyl. On Tuesday, September 10th, GATSBY: A New Musical, a satirical musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, made its New York City premiere at the Hudson Guild Theater as part of New York Theater Festival's NY Summerfest 2019. The run will include two additional performances, one on Saturday, September 14th at 9 p.m., and another on Sunday, September 15th at 1:30 p.m.
