After stunning her St. Mark's High School classmates with a blistering re-creation of the violin solo in the Who's 'Baba O'Reilly,' Katie Jacoby was ready for bigger things. Jacoby, then 15, emailed the Who to let them know she was available to perform in their upcoming show at the Wachovia Center in 2007.

On Thursday 29 September, Teenage Cancer Trust and Moulin Rouge! The Musical will play host to an exclusive event in London. A Special Gala Performance of the celebrated West End musical will raise money to fund the charity's specialist nurses, youth support teams and hospital units that help teens and young adults get through cancer treatment.

Welcome to Bea's NYCC Speed Interview Series! As I attended New York Comic Con 2021 (October 7-10, 2021), I did a series of short interviews with influential creators. For issue #8, here's a speed interview with James C. Mulligan, an artist for The Walt Disney Company. His paintings are collected by impressive names, including (but not limited to!) Johnny Depp, Roger Daltrey, Neil Patrick Harris, (the late) Hugh Hefner, Chuck Liddel and the Presley family. Before his current work with Disney, he performed in national Broadway tours.

The new release, featuring 11 songs written or co-written by Tony Marsico, the bassist and co-writer for the Cruzados and a member of the band’s punk-era precursor the Plugz, will be issued on CD on August 13, 2021 on Marsico’s imprint Scamco; an LP edition will follow in the fall.

 Denver Center for the Performing Arts has released a new flashback video as part of its DCPAMemories series, featuring its production of The Who's Tommy.

The San Diego Symphony announced its inaugural season of concerts at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, the new year-round outdoor venue with 360-degree views of downtown, the marina & the bay. Opening August 6-8, the season will offer more than 40 concerts between August and November 2021, including eight concerts led by Music Director Rafael Payare.

The Who is one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century with over 100 million records sold worldwide, and the documentary explores their groundbreaking record in detail.

Broadway On Demand will present several one-person events this month, as part of its “One-Person Powerhouse” theme, including the solo show Kennedy: Bobby’s Last Crusade (January 15 – 31) and the documentary series Billy Joel: Last Play at Shea (January 22) and Carole King: Natural Woman (January 29).
