The Bronx Children's Museum will host its third annual gala on May 7, 2019, in New York City at Manhattan's Gotham Hall. The theme of this year's celebration is "Bronx-grown," celebrating the ingenuity and imagination of the children - past, present and future - born or raised in the Bronx.

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, announced today their lineup of performers to pay special tribute to this year's honorees at their Annual Gala on Monday, April 29, 2019. Michael Urie (Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song) hosts the evening that will include performances by Amber Gray (Hadestown), Beth Leavel, Michael Potts, Matthew Sklar (The Prom), Damon Daunno,Rebecca Naomi Jones (Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!), Sarah Stiles (Tootsie) and a special appearance by Chairman of The Actors Fund Brian Stokes Mitchell. Luke Hawkins & Evan Ruggiero will open the Gala with an original tap dance number. Additional presenters and guests include: Annette Bening,Kenny Leon, Jawan M. Jackson, Tony Kushner, Will Roland, Brandon Uranowitz, Eric William Morris, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Gideon Glick and more. Performers and guests are subjects to change.

Following five previous sold-out engagements, Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko with his new show, John Lloyd Young LIVE!, for two performances only-Friday, July 12 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, July 13 (8 p.m.).

Before she takes off to Hollywood for her debut screen role in the Stephen Spielberg WEST SIDE STORY remake, New Jersey's Rachel Zegler has one last high school musical to perform, Shrek the Musical!

Netflix's Still LAUGH-IN: The Stars Celebrate, a 50th anniversary tribute to Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In will launch globally on the streaming service on Tuesday, May 14th.  

The Peabody Board of Jurors revealed today nine Entertainment winners and a Children's winner for programs released in 2018. The honorees include a children's superhero saga focused on empathy; darkly comic immersions into the male and female killer mind; welcomed reformulations and expansions of standup comedy and political entertainment shows; and expansive creativity in a show that might best be described as Afro-surrealism meets Parliament Funkadelic.

Yesterday, additional casting was announced for the highly anticipated film adaptation of West Side Story from director Steven Spielberg. Paloma Grace-Lee was cast as Graziella, the girlfriend of the Jets' member Riff, who will be played by Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist.

Nowadays it's quite common for a show to have '& Friends' in it's title. I don't know if Broadway Producer and entertainer Jamie deRoy invented the concept, but over the last 30 years she sure has perfected the inclusion of having her uber talented friends perform in Jamie deRoy & friends variety shows. In fact, some folks must think '& friends' is Jamie's last name, she has an impressive contact list (remember rollodex).

Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist has been cast as Riff of the Jets  in Fox's Steven Spielberg West Side Story film, according to Deadline. Puerto Rican singer and dancer Ana Isabelle will play Rosalia, a shark who works with Maria and Dance Moms' Maddie Ziegler has been cast as part of the Jets. They have also cast  over 40 performers set as Sharks and Jets!

The Actors Fund will honor Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner Lily Tomlin with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement at the 23rd Annual Tony Awards Viewing Gala on Sunday, June 9, 2019 (3:30-9:00pm) at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

This last month came with a lot of new stage to screen news and we're here to catch you up on all of it! The film adaptation everyone is talking about, CATS, just recently wrapped production! The cast and crew also made an appearance at CinemaCon, where Jennifer Hudson sang 'Memory.' Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Leguizamo will serve as co-writer and co-lyricist only for Kiss My Aztec! - 11 other talented actors will perform in this production. Taccone will also direct.

The Peabody Awards Board of Jurors have selected Rita Moreno as the recipient of the Peabody Career Achievement Award, presented by Mercedes-Benz. The honor is reserved for individuals whose work and commitment to electronic media has left an indelible mark on the field. The Peabody Awards are based at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

Triple threat Garrett Clayton will present a celebratory evening of cabaret, music, and dancing with his all-new show, It Takes Three, at Feinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, June 21 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 22 (8 p.m.).

Spencer Day, the #1 Billboard-charting pop/jazz performer and San Francisco Bay Area favorite, returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, June 14 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 15 (8 p.m.) with Broadway By Day-an all-new show featuring Day's unique interpretation of Broadway hits, old and new, from his forthcoming album.
