Spencer Day Brings BROADWAY BY DAY to Feinstein's at the Nikko

Spencer Day, the #1 Billboard-charting pop/jazz performer and San Francisco Bay Area favorite, returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko on Friday, June 14 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, June 15 (8 p.m.) with Broadway By Day-an all-new show featuring Day's unique interpretation of Broadway hits, old and new, from his forthcoming album. This engagement will be the first place Spencer performs this new material. Tickets for Spencer Day range in price from $50-$80 and are available now by calling 866-663-1063 or visiting www.feinsteinsatthenikko.com. Tickets prices are subject to change without notice.

Widely regarded for his original songs that blend compelling melodies, smart lyrics and lush arrangements, Spencer Day has wooed audiences at venues all over the world including Birdland in New York, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Jazz Alley in Seattle, the Pacific Rim Jazz Festival in Manila, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and Tanglewood Music Center in Boston, as well as on national television including "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson."

Day has remained a perennial favorite in the San Francisco Bay Area since exploding on to the music scene as a performer at the 2007 San Francisco Jazz Festival. Born in Utah, raised in rural Arizona, and currently living in New York City, Day has called many places home. He has wandered amid the expansive and diverse landscape of American music, developing an artistic sensibility that borrows from numerous sources: jazz, musical theater, cabaret, soul, folk, traditional, and contemporary pop. Day uses intuition and improvisation as his primary tools to craft a sound that is familiar, yet fresh and innovative at the same time.

Day's "Vagabond" album peaked at #11 on the Billboard Album Charts and stayed there for 47 weeks. The lead single, "Til You Come To Me," peaked at #3 on the chart. His album, "Daybreak," debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Charts. His latest project, "Angel City," finds Day entirely at the helm. Recorded at Capitol Records with the support of the Budman-Levy Orchestra, Day's seventh album is his most complex to date. Using the fabled city of Los Angeles as a backdrop, "Angel City" continues Spencer's meditations on love, fame, narcissism, and how an artist can maintain integrity and authenticity in a world which so often values neither. "Angel City's" lyrics and melodies reveal something of a stylistic departure from Spencer's previous records, although you'll certainly find his unique blend of blue-eyed soul, pop and film noir moodiness from the classic jazz era.

Located within Hotel Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco), Feinstein's at the Nikko presents a wide range of entertainers from stage and screen all within an intimate 140-seat cabaret setting. Past performers include Tony Danza, Lea Salonga, Megan Hilty, Minnie Driver, Jeff Goldblum, Billy Porter, Betty Buckley, Caissie Levy, Darren Criss, Megan Mullally and Stephanie Hunt, Jim Brickman, Kathleen Turner, Linda Eder, Cheyenne Jackson, Rita Moreno, Tommy Tune...and Michael Feinstein himself!

There is a $20 food and beverage minimum per person inside the showroom which guests can use towards cocktails as well as a variety of small plates crafted exclusively for Feinstein's at the Nikko, through Restaurant Anzu. Cheese and dessert platters will also be available in the showroom.
