Producers Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group today announced principal cast changes for the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince. The longest-running show in Broadway history and one of the most successful stage productions of all-time, PHANTOM this year surpassed 11,000 performances in New York - an unprecedented feat achieved by no other Broadway show. The Broadway production has played to more than 16 million people at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), the musical's home for more than 26 record-breaking years. (more...)

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts announced today that tickets are on sale for Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater, a one-night-only variety show featuring luminaries from the Great White Way and beyond, including international music and dance performers. Broadway & Beyond will open the Walt Disney Theater during the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is seeking an Orlando-based singer between the ages of 9-14 to perform in Broadway & Beyond at the Walt Disney Theater on November 15. The selected singer will make her debut in a solo number with an all-star, professional Broadway cast for the Grand Premiere of Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Presented by Dr. Phillips Charities and Balfour Beatty Construction. The show is under the direction of renowned Broadway producer Richard Jay-Alexander and musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell. The Muny, America's premier summer musical theatre, and Webster University's Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts Conservatory of Theatre Arts, a national leader in training for Musical Theatre, have joined forces to launch a summer intensive for emerging young artists. This three-week program invites 10 rising junior and senior high school students from across the nation to participate in an immersive theatrical experience.
