On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Encompass New Opera Theatre (Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director), The Board of Trustees and The Encompass Honorary Gala Chair, Sheldon Harnick will pay tribute to Tony Award Winning Songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and Legendary Cabaret and Concert Artist -- Marilyn Maye with a star- studded musical salute.

Celebrating 46 years of creative music theatre, Encompass Artistic Director, Nancy Rhodes and Music Director, Liz Hastings will present Angel of the Amazon, a new musical drama with book and music by Evan Mack at The Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012. Performances begin Thursday, November 10 and runs through Sunday, November 20, 2022.

On Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 3:00pm, Encompass New Opera Theatre and The Board of Trustees of Encompass will present a Benefit Concert for Ukraine, in association with Women in the Arts & Media Coalition.

The League of Professional Theatre Womenan organization which has championed women in the professional theatre for four decades, today announced the youngest, most diverse leadership in its history: co-presidents Mary E. Hodges & Katrin Hilbe, and Executive Vice President, Malini Singh McDonald.  

On Sunday, March 20, 2022, Encompass New Opera Theatre, The Board of Trustees and The Encompass Honorary Gala Chairs, Sheldon Harnick and Maury Yeston will pay tribute to Legendary Theatrical Icon and Tony Award-winning luminaries, CHITA RIVERA and DANNY BURSTEIN, with a star-studded musical salute.

With its continuing mission to support women theatre makers and creators through discourse, resources, and mentorship, the League of Professional Theatre Women (www.theatrewomen.org) will kick off its 39th season on Monday, September 13 at 7 pm with a free virtual event, open to all League members and women interested in future League membership.

The League of Professional Theatre Women, an organization which has been championing women in the professional theatre for over three decades, announces their 38th season of programming, events, and advocacy along with new officers and board members. All events this season will be presented online via Zoom, unless otherwise noted. 

The Launch of the Douglas Moore Songbook and A Celebration of 20th Century Opera Composers a?" Dominick Argento, Jack Beeson, Douglas Moore and Virgil Thomson a?" will be showcased on Saturday, March 14. 

Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand, recently returned from performing at Nairobi's National Theatre in The Kenya International Theater Festival, will celebrate his 20th year of touring, performing his celebrated solo play, LET IT BE ART! in a special performance presented by Tennessee Valley Art Association (TVAA) at The Ritz Theatre's Ritz Studio in Sheffield, Alabama on February 29th.

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, Encompass New Opera Theatre (Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director), The Board of Trustees and The Encompass Honorary Gala Chair, Sheldon Harnick will pay tribute to Academy Award and Tony Award-winning luminaries, ESTELLE PARSONS and MAURY YESTON, with a star-studded musical salute. The elegant evening - hosted by Midge Woolsey of Thirteen/WNET and WQXR Radio - will feature recollections and tributes by well-known Musical Theatre and Opera personalities and friends. Dazzling musical entertainment will feature stars of stage and screen.
