The Ravinia Festival plans to reopen in July for the 2021 summer season. Now, the full lineup has been announced!

The National Repertory Orchestra announces the appointment of Maestro Michael Stern as its third music director in the organization's 61-year history. The National Repertory Orchestra is an intensive performance and education summer festival for young professional musicians, ages 18-29.  Its reputation in the classical music world is unmatched.

Three First Prize Winners have been announced following the Finals of the 2020 Young Concert Artists International Auditions: 

Stanislav Ioudentich, Founder and Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music, announced today that the organization's opening concert would indeed take place, albeit revamped. Stanislav & Friends will now take place at the Boulevard Drive-In (1051 Merriam Lane, Kansas City, KS). Gate opens at 6:00 p.m. Tickets start at $50 for two patrons in one car and can be purchased at Park ICM 2020 Gala Drive In.

On Friday, February 28, 2020 at 8:00pm, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and the Irvine Barclay Theatre present multiple Grammy Award-nominated violinist Philippe Quint in the west coast premiere of Charlie Chaplin's Smile: A Musical Tribute to Charlie Chaplin, a new multimedia recital with pianist John Novacek featuring new arrangements of works and video clips from Chaplin's most celebrated films - Modern Times, City Lights, Monsieur Verdoux, The Kid, Limelight and A King in New York - interspersed with works by composers that had a great impact on Chaplin's compositional style: Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Brahms, Gershwin, and Stravinsky. During the performance, Quint will also narrate the stories that he has written and based on Chaplin's My Autobiography. There will be a 7:00pm panel with Quint, film archivist Stan Taffle, and Newport Beach Film Festival CEO Gregg Schwenk before the performance.

On January 18, the fourth Youth Music Culture Guangdong presented a unique Bach Marathon Concert at the Xinghai Concert Hall performed by all the young musicians of the 2020 YMCG Orchestra, lead by YMCG Artistic Director Yo-Yo Ma, Music Director Michael Stern and the YMCG faculty. The concert displayed its four core elements surrounding its moniker youth, music, culture, and Guangdong including open-mindedness, tolerance, communication, and development.

Launched in 2017, the Youth Music Culture Guangdong (YMCG), which is known as 'turning a new page for Chinese classical music,' will be held for the fourth time in Guangzhou beginning on January 10, 2020.
