Andrew Barth Feldman has joined the cast of SNL 1975, an origin film about the beginning of Saturday Night Live. Jason Reitman's behind-the-scenes film based on the start of the iconic comedy series. The 32nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party returns with Elton John, David Furnish, and co-hosts Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and Tiffany Haddish. R&B-Soul-Rock Trio Gabriels will perform at the sold-out event.

San Diego Opera’s most recent production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni is an example of how opera companies hope to attract younger audiences while coping with rising costs and smaller budgets. The pandemic hasn’t been kind to the arts. The National Endowment for the Arts has reported that stage performances joined oil drilling/exploration and air transportation “as the steepest-declining areas of the U.S. economy in 2020.” And opera, which had already been experiencing shrinking audiences, was the hardest hit of all the arts. Smaller companies are struggling to stay in business. Even New York’s Metropolitan Opera had to dip into its reserves this season for $40 Million.

Los Angeles audiences will have the opportunity to experience six brand new plays—thanks to Center Theatre Group’s L.A. Writers’ Workshop Festival which will take place January 26 to 28, 2024 at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. 

Directed by Conor Murr, the “scared.” video follows a central protagonist at his wits’ end. As he faces up to reality, framed against the backdrop of a brooding black-and-white seascape; the video’s cinematic stylistics will call to mind the cathartic closing sequences of Quadrophenia.

Smith co-produced Every Christmas with his son, Tyler Michael Smith. His daughters Whitney Mooring and Anna Smith are also featured throughout the project, along with his 17 grandchildren. The family focus is fitting, as the songs on this album paint a picture of all of the merriment of the holiday season and Christmas memories.
