Quit the Road, Jack, a new comedy by Jerry Polner about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), premieres Thursday March 5 as a guest production of TheaterLab in Manhattan. NAFTA? Well, when the son of a divorced and miserable couple of burnt-out ex-musicians runs away from home to join up with the immigrant worker rights movement, mom and dad are forced to travel across North America together to find their boy. Directed by Jonathan Warman, acclaimed for his work by the New York Times, Backstage, Theatermania and NYTheatre.com. Quit plays Thursday to Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM through March 22. Forward Flux Productions will present the North West Regional premiere reading of Lia Romeo's dangerously dark comedy Green Whales at the next Flux Salon gathering in Seattle. In addition to the reading, visual art will be on display from Seattle artist Sydney M. Pertl and there will be a musical performance by beat-box artist Zeke Keeble. The Flux Salon presents new works by fresh voices in intimate spaces throughout the city, and this marks the first in a series of three Salons featuring plays by female playwrights.
