Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival marks its 40th summer season in 2023. Long Island's longest-running classical music festival celebrates this milestone with 11 concerts, July 16 – August 13, that showcase a theme of “Beethoven as Innovator” alongside six of the festival's favorite works from four decades of commissioning new music: pieces by Elizabeth Brown, Kenji Bunch, Eric Ewazen, Bruce MacCombie, Kevin Puts, and Ned Rorem.
National Philharmonic Reveals 2023-2024 Season

National Philharmonic (NatPhil) announced its 2023-2024 Season, which includes six classical programs conducted by Music Director Piotr Gajewski, one classical concert led by guest conductor Jeri Lynne Johnson, and two choral performances presented in partnership with The Washington Chorus (TWC) and conducted by TWC Artistic Director Eugene Rogers. All season concerts will be held at The Music Center at Strathmore, the Orchestra’s longstanding home in Montgomery County.

The house was packed and the vocals soared, as Beethoven: Live in Concert shook the stage of The Green Room 42 on Monday night. Pianist Igor Levit, the San Francisco Symphony’s Artist-in-Residence for the 2022–23 season, joins Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Orchestra for two weeks of programs, June 15–27. Performances include Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 and Ferruccio Busoni’s Piano Concerto across two Orchestral Series programs with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the San Francisco Symphony, in addition to a Great Performers Series solo recital and a chamber music performance with members of the Orchestra.

Bruce Liu, winner of the 2021 Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, joins conduct Rafael Payare and the San Francisco Symphony to perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, May 11–13, replacing violinist Hilary Hahn in these performances. Hahn, who was scheduled to play Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto, is unwell and regretfully unable to perform on this week’s program.
