Ovation Award-nominated director Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx will succeed Director of Cultural Arts Jon Imparato (set to retire June 30) as the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center’s new Artistic Director.  Besides overseeing the Center’s two live performance venues — the 200-seat Renberg Theatre and the 50-seat black box Davidson/Valentini Theatre, Jonathan’s other priorities are to engage communities through arts programming, bring emerging L.A. artists to the Center’s various locations, and to offer workshops and classes for free or at low cost. Jonathan opened up some from his final days at A Noise Within to address a few of my queries.

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) presents the fifth and final show of its 2021-2022 Season, one of the most iconic and celebrated thrillers ever written, SLEUTH, by Anthony Shaffer and directed by Jenny Sullivan. SLEUTH begins previews on Thursday, June 9 at 7:30pm, opens on Saturday, June 11 at 8:00pm and runs through Sunday, June 26, 2022 at The New Vic, 33 W. Victoria Street in Santa Barbara. 

It was announced today that Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx will be the next Artistic Director of the Los Angeles LGBT Center's highly acclaimed Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center in Hollywood.

The series was the most viewed title this week and was in the Top 10 in 81 countries. Season 1 also jumped onto the list at #7 with 13.64M hours viewed. Moving into the second spot (and into our hearts) is Grace and Frankie Season 7: The Final Episodes. Starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, the comedy pulled in 23.18M hours viewed.

Since the theatre first opened its doors in 1996, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre has become known for bringing both classic musicals, as well as area and regional premieres  to the stage.

I got a chance to get some behind the scenes dish on Coco and her latest entertaining efforts.

Grace and Frankie's final season will officially make history as Netflix's longest-running Netflix original series. Seven years ago, Grace and Frankie’s lives turned upside down when their longtime husbands left them for… each other. Both sparring partners and partners-in-crime, Grace and Frankie formed an unlikely and unbreakable bond.

The show will run from April 6−9 in Hayes Auditorium and Broyhill Theatre. Based on the film and featuring original music by Parton, '9 to 5: The Musical' is lively, fast-paced, and full of fun, while still managing to discuss serious issues.

Grace and Frankie's final season will make history as Netflix's longest-running original series. A history-making 94 episodes later, Grace and Frankie continue to show themselves, their families, and their fans what it means to live life to the fullest. The final season is also set to include an appearance by their 9 to 5 co-star Dolly Parton.

AARP The Magazine unveiled the winners of its annual Movies for Grownups®Awards with a 20th anniversary special, featuring honorees from Being the Ricardos, Belfast, CODA, Dopesick, Hacks, House of Gucci, King Richard and more. Washington DC's oldest continuously operating theatre, The National Theatre has added four distinguished new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the theatre's Board are private equity pioneer Daryn Dodson, longtime non-profit and arts leader Peter Jablow, innovative advertising and marketing executive Jean Komendera, and civic leader and two-term Washington DC Mayor, Anthony A. Williams.

'This show is a great way to celebrate'

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of the legendary Miss Coco Peru in her new solo show, Bitter, Bothered & Beyond. There will be three performances only at the Renberg Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, at 8pm, and Sunday, May 1, at 7pm.

BIRDLAND will present drag legend Coco Peru in the new show “Bitter Bothered & Beyond!” for two special performances. The first show at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM quickly sold out, so an encore performance has been added for Tuesday, March 22 at 8:30 PM downstairs at the Birdland Theater.
