Interview: A Hearty Welcome To Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx As The LGBT Center's New Artistic Director

Ovation Award-nominated director Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx will succeed Director of Cultural Arts Jon Imparato (set to retire June 30) as the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center’s new Artistic Director. Besides overseeing the Center’s two live performance venues — the 200-seat Renberg Theatre and the 50-seat black box Davidson/Valentini Theatre, Jonathan’s other priorities are to engage communities through arts programming, bring emerging L.A. artists to the Center’s various locations, and to offer workshops and classes for free or at low cost. Jonathan opened up some from his final days at A Noise Within to address a few of my queries.

SLEUTH begins previews on Thursday, June 9 at 7:30pm, opens on Saturday, June 11 at 8:00pm and runs through Sunday, June 26, 2022 at The New Vic, 33 W. Victoria Street in Santa Barbara.
OZARK Tops Netflix Viewership the Week of May 2

The series was the most viewed title this week and was in the Top 10 in 81 countries. Season 1 also jumped onto the list at #7 with 13.64M hours viewed. Moving into the second spot (and into our hearts) is Grace and Frankie Season 7: The Final Episodes. Starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, the comedy pulled in 23.18M hours viewed.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center has announced the return of the legendary Miss Coco Peru in her new solo show, Bitter, Bothered & Beyond. There will be three performances only at the Renberg Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30, at 8pm, and Sunday, May 1, at 7pm.

BIRDLAND will present drag legend Coco Peru in the new show “Bitter Bothered & Beyond!” for two special performances. The first show at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, March 21 at 7:00 PM quickly sold out, so an encore performance has been added for Tuesday, March 22 at 8:30 PM downstairs at the Birdland Theater.
