The Cape Playhouse, the longest-running professional summer theatre in the country, will continue its 2023 Summer season on June 21st with an exciting retelling of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility.

The critically-acclaimed theatre company BEDLAM continues their 10th anniversary season with a return to repertory performance including productions of William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale and Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler, adapted by Jon Robin Baitz, playing from October 5 through November 20, 2022.

Written by Eric Tucker & Musa Gurnis and directed by Eric Tucker, “BEDLAM: The Series” twists Shakespearean characters and plots we know and love – King Lear, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Merchant of Venice – into a new story of love, deceit, betrayal, and revenge

BEDLAM has announced BEDLAM: THE SERIES, an episodic New Media Series now in development. Written by Eric Tucker and Musa Gurnis and directed by Eric Tucker, BEDLAM: THE SERIES is an inventive and irreverent Shakespeare mashup that twists together characters and plots from King Lear, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Merchant of Venice and other plays.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Producer Diane Borger, will offer a sensory friendly performance of Bedlam's Sense & Sensibility on Tuesday, January 9 at 6:30PM. The performance for adults and children ages 12 and up will be specially modified for individuals with sensory needs, including people on the autism spectrum and their families and caretakers. This expansion of the theater's access performances, which include ASL interpreted, audio described, open captioned, and family-friendly sensory friendly performances, reflects A.R.T.'s commitment to providing quality arts experiences for all.

BEDLAM'S SENSE & SENSIBILITY is Kate Hamill's adaptation of Jane Austen's classic woman-centered novel, a free-wheeling offering for the holiday season that is the right story at the right time. The ensemble cast embraces the spirit of play that is Bedlam's stock in trade, while conveying the power and beauty of Austen's language.
