Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents Everybody by Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins performed by the 2018/19 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble July 18 -21, 2019 in the Stiemke Studio. PTI is an advanced actor-training program for students in 9th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist. The 2018/19 PTI ensemble features sixteen students hailing from ten different high schools who received free training from some of the top theater professionals in the world, culminating in this capstone performance of Everybody, where they will be employed as paid, professional actors.

MUMMIES OF THE WORLD Comes to Union Station

One of North America's most popular traveling exhibitions , Mummies Of The World, is scheduled to close January 1 at Union Station. The exhibition will then begin its over-seas journey, launching its first ever European tour. The exhibition has been traveling the United States since July of 2010. Over the holidays, here in Kansas City, the 1,750,000th visitor is expected to experience Mummies of the World, making it one of the highest attended exhibitions nation-wide.

Basketball is a crucial aspect of the Kentucky identity, and while those outside the state primarily witness the competition as between opposing college or professional teams, high school basketball has formed a core component of the sport's presence since the establishment of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Boys Basketball Championship in 1918. In 1960, that championship would play host to an issue larger than simply basketball, as an all-black team (only the fourth to make it to the “Sweet Sixteen”) was a serious contender. That team represented the Lincoln Institute, Kentucky's only black boarding school, and their presence spoke volumes about the changing face of education under integration.
