New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, will honor Tony and Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington at its 69th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute.

Last night at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, the acoustically perfect Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. Concert Hall was host to one of the most beautiful voices on the planet...that of five time Tony-Award winner Audra McDonald.

Tony Award-winning actress BEBE NEUWIRTH will host the 40th Anniversary and reunion of the original cast of Bob Fosse's DANCIN' on March 26th at 7 PM at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC. The evening, presented by Dancers Over 40, will feature members of the original Broadway cast as well as others that joined the show during the run. Ms. Neuwirth appeared in DANCIN' during the final four months of the Broadway engagement.

REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite.

Audra McDonald is one of Broadway's most treasured leading ladies, but she hasn't been seen on the Great White Way since SHUFFLE ALONG in 2016. She recently spoke with The Atlanta Journal Constitution about her busy career and life at home and when the question of her returning to Broadway was raised, she had an exciting answer. 

Record-breaking 6-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald has thrilled audiences in starring roles on Broadway in 'The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess,' Carousel' and 'Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill,' on television in 'The Good Wife' and NBC's live telecast of 'The Sound of Music,' and on concert stages around the world. DANCIN' opened on Broadway on March 27, 1978 and ran for four years, and was Bob Fosse's only all-dancing and all-singing musical. To mark this historic event, Dancers Over 40 will assemble a spectacular 'once-in-a-lifetime' panel of original cast members almost exactly to the day of their 1978 debut - March 26, 2018, 7pm at St. Luke's Theater, 308 West 46th Street.

Now entering its 28th year, Broadway Theatre Project (BTP) announces its newest Resident Artist: Kim Morgan Greene. BroadwayWorld is sad to share the news today that legendary filmmaker Rick McKay has passed away earlier this week. A longtime friend of the web site, and constant presence in the theatre world, McKay has long been at work on two sequels to his 2004 hit film, Broadway: The Golden Age.

Today we remember the groundbreaking original production of Bob Fosse's Sweet Charity, which opened on Broadway on this day in 1966.

Theater Program presents its fourth annual production, Anything Goes, directed by 5th Avenue Theatre Casting Director Kelsey Thorgalsen. The show runs March 9th though 18th, with previews March 7th and 8th, at the Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse at 4045 University Way NE.

Sasha Allen (The Voice, Pippin, Hair, Camp) and Ricardo Zayas (Hamilton) will join Aurora Barnes in Somewhere Between Sondheim and Lullabies at Feinstein's/54 Below on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7pm. A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit TADA! Youth Theater, of which Aurora, Sasha, and Ricardo are all alumni. Come hear songs ranging from Sondheim to Bob Dylan to Aurora's original compositions.

On March 5, 2018, TADA! Youth Theater will host its annual gala at Tribeca 360, located at 10 Desbrosses Street in Manhattan. This year's honorees will be Leslie Uggams and Tommy Tune. The evening will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment from the TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble and Broadway stars, and many more great surprises.

Steve Elmore, an original cast member of Stephen Sondheim's ground-breaking musical 'Company' as well as a regular presence on Broadway for more than three decades, passed away recently in Florida at age 84, his wife Carolyn Marcell Elmore confirmed.

'Others, who did not know him, can write obituaries about David Cassidy. I want to share some personal remembrances. I knew him, I liked him, I am saddened by his loss. I was glad that David chose me to ghost-write his autobiography, 'C'Mon Get Happy' (by David Cassidy with Chip Deffaa, published by Warner Books). And writing that book with him was an intense experience. He was open, candid, frank, and a fantastic storyteller. He had a seemingly endless supply of self-deprecating stories to tell, which I appreciated. He shared everything with me, with the understanding that we could decide later what to put into the book, and what to keep private. I liked his openness.
