If what you know about 'Cabaret' is informed by the classic 1972 movie which made Liza Minnelli a superstar, you owe yourself to see the Tony-winning musical stage version like the one at community-based Sherman Playhouse. Director Bradford Blake, inspired by London's Donmar Warehouse 1993 revival which made it to Studio54 in 1998, creates a solid, engaging production that is both faithful to the cautionary theme of the original Broadway production and authentic to the raw and seedy world of the decadent Kit Kat Klub, Berlin 1931.

Berkshire Theatre Group will present The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra at The Colonial Theatre on Friday, October 11 at 7:30pm. Tickets are $39.

Last night, Monday, September 9, 2019, The Players honored Tony Award-nominated composer and writer Joe Iconis (Be More Chill) with a Pipe Night, a club tradition that has celebrated significant cultural figures for over a century.

The legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra will play The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) as part of their world tour. Performing two shows on Saturday, October 19 at 3:00PM and 8:00PM, 18 musicians and 2 singers, Nick Hilscher and Hannah Truckenbrod will perform timeless songs such as In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Pennsylvania 6-5000, String of Pearls and Tuxedo Junction. The Glenn Miller Orchestra is musical directed by Hilscher (Young and Foolish, Timeless) and produced by Didier Morissonneau.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota launches its 24th season with the return of acclaimed vocalist Jennifer Sheehan in a?oeI Know a Place,a?? her tribute to favorite hits of the '60s. Sheehan and her trio, which includes noted Broadway pianist James Followell, guitarist Stephen Benson and percussionist Dan Gross, offers a rich, and dare we say, groovy, assortment of tunes covering everything from Broadway, the Beatles and Bossa Nova, to Bacharach, Blossom Dearie, Simon and Garfunkel and so much more. The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (MCP) has announced its 2019a?"'20 season. At 112 years in operation, MCP is the city's most celebrated chorus. Composed of approximately 150 singers, it is led by Robert Page Music Director Matthew Mehaffey.

Featuring "At Last," "The Joint is Really Jumpin' Down at Carnegie Hall," and "Hooray for Hollywood," this jazzy show transports audiences back to the '30s and '40s, when swing dancing was all the rage. The Jewish Museum presents Personas: George Segal's Abraham and Isaac, an installation of the life-sized plaster sculpture by American artist George Segal (American, 1924-2000), being shown at the Museum for the first time.

The world's greatest Big Band transports you back to the heady days and music of the 1940s - with the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders and the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Mark Porter. Also joining them, with the sounds of the Andrews Sisters, are the Polka Dot Dolls. All under the steady directorial hand of Ray McVay. The Glenn Miller Orchestra will play at Worthing's Pavilion Theatre on Sunday 4 August at 3:00pm.

Live @ Peck Pavilion returns to the Marcus Performing Arts Center grounds this summer. The season will run from June 26 through September 5 with each day of the series featuring a different program focus. Optimist Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park returns to Peck Pavilion from June 26-July 13 with their presentation of The Comedy of Errors. Community Partners, Milwaukee Ballet's Ballet Beat, True Skool Block Party and Milwaukee Fringe Festival, also return this summer. All events in Peck Pavilion are free and open to the public.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota enters its 24th season of bringing unique and diverse musical experiences to the region with a dynamic and international array of both established and emerging classical, jazz and pops artists. The season, which runs October 2019 through June 2020, features 28 performances at venues in Sarasota and Venice. The programs cover Artist Series Concerts' trademark range of diverse musical offerings, including classical recitals, pops, jazz and world music, chamber soirees, and luncheon and dinner concerts.

The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is coming Thursday, August 8 to the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are on sale now.
