GMU's students performed four diverse works Friday night, from historical modern dance to contemporary to one with inflections of break dance. Friday’s annual showcase of GMU’s dancers at the George Mason Center for the Arts, featured roughly half of the school’s majors in works by Martha Graham, Kyle Abraham, Rena Butler and Susan Shields.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced the return of Tuesday Night Dance: Line Dance on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza. Tuesday Night Dance is fun, upbeat, and designed for all ages and abilities—all are welcome, no dance experience required. Every Tuesday throughout the month of August, guest teacher Dev Edwards will teach a new series of line dances from her extensive repertoire as performer, choreographer, and teacher of line dance.

Bowen McCauley Dance Company, the award-winning contemporary dance company who closed out its 25th and final season tonight at The Kennedy Center, announces partnerships with The Kennedy Center and George Mason University's School of Dance to continue free Dance for Parkinson's Disease (Dance for PD) classes. In staying true to their charitable mission that dance transforms all, they united to join in the fight for Justice and address the impact it has on us all.
