Seattle Opera will pop the cork on its 2022/23 season with Gaetano Donizetti’s delightful summer sipper, The Elixir of Love. Performances will take place on August 6, 7, 12, 14, 17 & 20.

After their first, full, in-person season in over a year, AVA has announced their 2022/23 opera season! With last season's productions being called a 'complete triumph from its start to its finish' (Chestnut Hill Local), AVA's 88th season is sure to delight opera audiences.

Camerata Piccola, in partnership with the Woodside Arts Collective, will be performing Peter Rabbit at the Moore Jackson Community Garden at 3pm on Sunday, May 15th.

The American Symphony Orchestra (ASO) continues its 60th anniversary season on Sunday, June 5 with American Masters, a free symphonic concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center featuring the world premiere of Roberto Sierra’s newly commissioned Concerto for Electric Violin performed by acclaimed electric violinist Tracy Silverman. The program will also offer works by three Pulitzer Prize-winning composers: Melinda Wagner, Richard Wernick, and Shulamit Ran.

The A.J. I Capuleti e i Montecchi, opera by V. Bellini, will be performed in April at Theatro Sao Pedro. With libretto by Felice Romani, the opera is not based on Shakespeare's famous text. Staged by Antonio Araujo and musical direction by Alessandro Sangiorgi, the cast includes singers Denise de Freitas (Romeo) and Carla Cottini (Giullietta).

Lucia di Lammermoor is undoubtedly, together with L’elisir d’amore, the most famous opera by Gaetano Donizetti and the most performed throughout the world. Thanks to a 1985 donation by the Perolari family, the city of Bergamo was able to acquire the autograph score of this opera, which was first performed at the San Carlo Theatre in Naples in 1835. The score is preserved in the Mai Library. In a few weeks this precious manuscript will travel across the ocean for the first time to be exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York directed by Fabio Finotti on the occasion of the new, highly anticipated production of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Metropolitan Opera. The production will be conducted by Riccardo Frizza, who is also the music director of the Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo .

Wiener Staatsoper has announced its schedule of streaming productions for this week. Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale from 2015, with Michele Pertusi, Valentina Naforniţă and Juan Diego Flórez and conducted by Jesús López Cobos will be streamed December 7 and 10.
