Wiener Staatsoper Announces Streaming Schedule For This Week

Wiener Staatsoper has announced its schedule of streaming productions for this week.

Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale from 2015, with Michele Pertusi, Valentina Naforniţă and Juan Diego Flórez and conducted by Jesús López Cobos will be streamed December 7 and 10.

The Vienna State Ballet is featured in the three-part Im siebten Himmel (recorded at the November 2021 premiere, header image) on Thursday, December 9. The program includes Martin Schläpfer's Marsch, Walzer, Polka, the world premiere of Marco Goecke's Fly Paper Bird, and George Balanchine's Symphony in C.

Two Mozart works are also featured this week: On December 8, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, recorded in 2020, with Christan Nickel, Lisette Oropesa, Daniel Behle and Regula Mühlemann and conducted by Antonello Manacorda; and December 11, Le nozze di Figaro (recorded in 2021) conducted by Philippe Jordan with Andrè Schuen, Federica Lombardi, Louise Alder and Philippe Sly.

Faust (2021) follows on December 12 in Frank Castorf's production, with Juan Diego Flórez, Nicole Car, Adam Plaka and Étienne Dupuis; conductor: Bertrand de Billy.

All of the above streams are available free of charge in Austria and internationally at play.wiener-staatsoper.at. Each begins at 7:00 p.m. and is available for 24 hours.
