BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present Julie Halston – the brilliant Tony Award-winning comedic actress – on Monday, October 17 at 7:00 PM. Ms. Halston returns to the Birdland stage – live and in person – after two-and-a-half years of global pandemic Zoom meetings and green screens.

BIRDLAND THEATER will present the return of Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf – the acclaimed cellist celebrating her recent album Music of Broadway for Cello and Piano – on Monday, September 19 at 8:30 PM.

Birdland Jazz Club will present a special evening with renowned pianist and singer Billy Stritch and award-winning jazz vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli on Monday, September 19 at 7:00 PM.

Every Monday, showbiz superstars hit the stage alongside up-and-comers, serving up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle on the Birdland stage. Showman Jim Caruso guides the entire affair with razor-sharp humor. Musical director Billy Stritch holds court at the ivories, along with Steve Doyle on bass and Daniel Glass on drums. But the real fun starts when the audience participates in the onstage festivities. Broadway legends, jazzers, cabaret divas, starry-eyed tourists, and kids right off the bus storm the stage to entertain each other. The 92nd Street Y, New York (92NY) has announced its 2022/23 Tisch Music Season, one of 92NY's largest and most diverse seasons to date.

The traditional gift for those celebrating a 19th Anniversary is bronze. Not surprisingly, no bronze was given during Jim Caruso’s Cast Party anniversary celebration, but the packed house was certainly entertained by performers with hearts of gold. Check out photos from the night here!

BIRDLAND THEATER will present acclaimed jazz vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli in a new monthlong Tuesday residency starting on May 31 at 5:30 PM. After Stravelli opens the series, each month the club will showcase a new artist. Stravelli – who has been compared to the legendary Ella Fitzgerald by the New York Times, hailing her “emotional intelligence,  easy-going confidence and impeccable taste” – will be joined by pianist Michael Kanan  and bassist Pat O’Leary. There is a $20 music charge. Birdland is located at 315 West 44th Street in New York.
