South Chicago Dance Theatre, a multicultural organization that fuses classical and contemporary dance styles while preserving historic dance work, has announced An Evening with the South Chicago Dance Theatre: Celebrating Five Years, featuring five world premieres by five dynamic choreographers— Ron De Jesús, Stephanie Martinez, Crystal Michelle, Wade Schaaf and Kia S. Smith.

Tonight's, Thursday, March 3, and the Saturday evening March 5 performances of Lincoln Center Theater's acclaimed production of the new opera Intimate Apparel will be recorded for future broadcast by Great Performances – on PBS as part of #PBSForTheArts – a multiplatform campaign that celebrates the arts in America. 

INTIMATE APPAREL appeared this week at LCT’s Mitzi Newhouse Theater, directed adroitly by Bartlett Sher, with a thoughtful libretto by Lynn Nottage based on her award-winning play and a ragtime-inflected score by composer Ricky Ian Gordon.
