Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) has announced complete casting for the 38th Marathon of One-Act Plays, which will be fully comprised of work from artists who identify as Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC). This year's selection of eleven plays was curated by Co-Artistic Directors Mike Lew (Teenage Dick) and Colette Robert (Behind the Sheet). Ten plays will be presented across two different series from Sunday October 16 through Sunday November 13 at EST.

Dance Nation, Olney Theatre's 22-23 Season opener, is a 2019 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama by playwright and performer Clare Barron and directed for Olney Theatre by Jenna Place. The play follows a 'tweenage dance team from Liverpool, Ohio, more is at stake than a first-place trophy.' Its about the battle between self doubt and self belief as well as the devotion required in order to be truly great at something.

Dance Nation by Clare Barron and directed by Jenna Place opened Olney Theatre Center's 84th season in the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab. The production is scheduled to run through Sunday October 30, 2022. See the actors discuss their approach to the roles here!

Page 73, along with Working Theater, will presents Bleu Beckford-Burrell’s La Race, directed by Taylor Reynolds (Man Cave, Tambo & Bones), November 21–December 23 at the McGinn/Cazale Theater at WP Theater.

Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) announced the directors for the 38th Marathon of One-Act Plays, which will be fully comprised of work from artists who identify as Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC). The full list of directors is Sivan Battat, Dominic Colón, nicHi Douglas, Chika Ike, Cameron Knight, Rebecca Martinez, Jonathan McCrory, Jess McLeod, Keenan Tyler Oliphant, Erin Tripp and Elizabeth Van Dyke.

In conjunction with the upcoming production of Clare Barron's critically acclaimed and award-winning 2018 play Dance Nation, Olney Theatre Center will present two community engagement events designed to further explore themes from the production through dialogue as well as to showcase and celebrate local talent.

Jonathan Groff will star as “Franklin” and Lindsay Mendez will star as “Mary” in Merrily We Roll Along at New York Theatre Workshop. Merrily We Roll Along features music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by George Furth. They join the previously announced Daniel Radcliffe, who will star as “Charley”.
