The Broadway Education Alliance Inc. presented The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (formerly the Gershwin Awards) on Sunday, May 22 at The Beacon School in Manhattan. The two-hour showcase hosted by Tim Federle (co-writer of Tuck Everlasting) featured 35 students who had played leading roles at 26 high school located throughout the five boroughs of New York, Long Island and Westchester. The Broadway Education Alliance just presented The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (formerly the Gershwin Awards), yesterday The Beacon High School in Manhattan. ?National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects & partnerships in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2016.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works award to TADA! Youth Theater, now celebrating its 30th Anniversary. The Art Works category supports the creation of work & presentation of both new & existing work, lifelong learning in the arts & public engagement with the arts through 13 arts disciplines or fields.
