George Street Playhouse, now located at 103 College Farm Road in New Brunswick, announced today that Playhouse favorites John Bolger (last season's American Son, 2014's Outside Mullingar) and Armand Schultz (The Spitfire Grill, Jolson Sings Again), as well as Broadway's Kally Duling (Fun Home) and Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace) have been cast in Christopher Demos-Brown's gripping military drama American Hero, on stage January 30 through February 25.

Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune will showcase the artistry and history that has made them stars of the Great White Way and beyond. The duo will be accompanied by a trio of superb Broadway musicians.

On March 5, 2018, TADA! Youth Theater will host its annual gala at Tribeca 360, located at 10 Desbrosses Street in Manhattan. This year's honorees will be Leslie Uggams and Tommy Tune. The evening will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, live and silent auctions, entertainment from the TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble and Broadway stars, and many more great surprises.

Producer Mark Cortale's Broadway concert series hosted by Sirius XM radio star Seth Rudetsky returns to San Francisco in 2018 at the Herbst Theatre in the iconic San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center. The internationally acclaimed series will now bring Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara to San Francisco in the New Year, on the heels of Jessie Mueller's smash hit season opener this past October.

The new musical POSTCARD AMERICAN TOWN will have its first industry presentation in New York City on January 12th. This timely new musical features a book by Crystal Skillman (Geek, Mary & Max) and music and lyrics by Lynne Shankel (Allegiance, Cry- Baby, bare: The Musical, Altar Boyz), with direction by Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Carrie, bare: the Musical, Altar Boyz), musical direction by Michael Gacetta (Groundhog Day, Matilda) and music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell (Mean Girls, Tuck Everlasting, Finding Neverland, Company).

Following a sold-out limited engagement the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will close the fully-restored operetta The Sorceress (Di Kishefmakherin) following today's 2pm performance at NYC's Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Byron St. Cyr returns to Don't Tell Mama with a final visit to 4600 Mithra: My New Orleans on Monday, January 15th at 7pm. This swinging night of jazz was debuted in March 2017, and he's back with his trio and some new and old standards that remind him of home. He will be joined by his musical director Drew Wutke; with direction by Jim Brigman once again.

Voting will run through December 31, 2017. Additionally, five Editor's Choice Awards recipients, including Cabaret Personality of the Year, will be announced after voting has completed. Following a review of the ballots, winners will be announced officially in January 2018!

Broadway legend Chita Rivera is currently on tour with Tommy Tune, but she took time to chat with SouthFlorida.com about her upcoming performances in the area, including 'Night of Stars' with Angela Lansbury, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and others. In the interview, Rivera discussed her connection with Tommy Tune, her adoration of Angela Lansbury, and her negative feelings toward technology.

He has learned that some of the best ideas came out of desperation, his greatest songs weren't written sitting in front of a piano, and that eventually you have to make a choice. The Tucson Desert Song Festival (TDSF) will celebrate the life and music of Leonard Bernstein, the iconic conductor, composer, pianist and educator, from January 16 through February 4th, 2018, in Tucson, Arizona. Over a period of eighteen days, TDSF, in partnership with Tucson's leading arts organizations, will present 30 events honoring Bernstein at 100. The festival will provide a rich and unusual context in which to experience Bernstein's work.

National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) presents the limited engagement of The Sorceress (Di Kishefmakherin). Inspired by last season's critically-acclaimed revival of Joseph Rumshinsky's The Golden Bride, another lost operetta of the Yiddish Theatre canon, The Sorceress will be the first piece brought to life under NYTF's new Global Yiddish Theatre Restoration Project. Directed by NYTF Associate Artistic Director, Drama Desk Award-nominee Motl Didner, with music direction by NYTF Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek, The Sorceress will be presented as a work-in-development, performed in Yiddish with English and Russian translation supertitles, for 5 performances only, beginning Monday, December 25, 2017 through Monday, January 1, 2018 in the Edmond J. Safra Hall at the Museum of Jewish Heritage (36 Battery Place).
