Over 100 voices from across Greater Manchester have come together to honour and remember those lives lost on the front line during this global pandemic. The virtual choir is made up of singers from The Choir Project Community Choir & The Royal Northern College of Music and Deloitte staff choirs. They were joined by guest soloist Kerry Ellis.

Cannery Casino Hotel will host its annual Cannerystock Music Fest, featuring iconic '80s hits at The Club on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. April entertainment at Cannery will also feature performances by Yellow Brick Road, “Queen Nation – Tribute to Queen” and The Whispers with Evelyn “Champagne” King. Queen Extravaganza, the official Queen tribute band produced by Roger Taylor and Brian May, return to the UK in 2021 following their sell out shows across the globe. Queen Extravaganza will be launching their exciting Rock Tribute shows from 13th January celebrating 50 years of Queen and performing their greatest hits across 26 dates, including a special performance at the Eventim Apollo in London on 23rd January following in the footsteps of Queen whose legendary 1975 UK tour was immortalised with (the live recording of) “A Night at the Odeon”.

Heavy Pettin' first stirred into action when vocalist Hamie, guitarists Gordon Bonnar and Punky Mendoza, drummer Gary Moat and bassist Brian Waugh first burst out of Glasgow in 1981. They were vibrant, priapic, anthemic and focused. As they showed on a three-track demo, and on the subsequent debut single for independent label Neat ('Roll The Dice'__/'Love Xs Love'), they were more than mere Def Leppard slaves. In fact, the Pettin' had an international sound that owed something to AC/DC, UFO, Thin Lizzy and Foreigner, but also had its own raging momentum.

Jeff Parry was raised in Ottawa, ON. His love of music began when he was 9 years old when he fell in love with The Beatles. He has always had a passion for. music, so after University, he moved out west to try to raise money to open a record store in Ottawa. He wound up staying in Alberta and rather than open a record store, in 1978, he started a concert promotion business, producing tribute shows. That evolved into becoming an agent and ultimately, a theatrical producer. I had the chance to speak with Parry on the eve of the Montreal run of the award winning musical, WE WILL ROCK YOU, a jukebox musical based on the songs of British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton, which lands in Montreal on February 10.
