Cortland Repertory Theater Downtown at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland is announcing their full fall schedule of quality entertainment.  Now in their 5th year in the new a?oeCRT Downtowna?? building, the theater continues to offer something for everyone, entertaining residents and visitors to Cortland in the fall and winter months.

Cathy Weis Projects announces the fall 2019 season of Sundays on Broadway, an intimate series of performances, film screenings, readings, and discussions on Sunday evenings at WeisAcres. The fall season is curated by Cathy Weis and guest curators Emily Climer, Joanna Kotze, Wendy Perron, and Adrienne Truscott. All events begin at 6pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. WeisAcres is located at 537 Broadway, #3 (between Prince and Spring Streets), in Manhattan.

Producing Artistic Director Rachel May and Managing Director Celise Kalke are pleased to announce that five staff members have joined the Synchronicity Theatre team. They are Lindsay Eisold, Technical Director; Sarah Kelley, Marketing Director; Jennifer Kimball, Stripped Bare Producer; Dalyla McGee, Development Director; and Vallea E. Woodbury, Production Manager.

The show exalts black protagonism in a show that narrates and goes through the successes of Brazilian and international Black Music. On the scene, Ícaro Silva plays the commander Icarus, who pilots a spaceship and lands in various corners of the world at different times. It is a theatrical show-based show, a 'documentary play' with playful features such as projections and videomapping, which make the audience travel through time and space. In this musical journey, featuring live music and musical direction by Alexandre Elias, choreographies by Victor Maia, the staging honors names such as Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Tim Maia, Wilson Simonal, Beyonce and James Brown.

The Miami Beach Pop Festival is excited to announce daily lineups for the inaugural event, set for November 8-10, 2019. The festival will be held on the shore of South Beach between 5th and 10th Streets, adjacent to the beachfront Lummus Park and the iconic Ocean Drive.

Spafford just recently finished an extensive Spring/Summer tour, and are excited to announce brand new Fall tour dates, dubbed the “Fall Into Place Tour,” the band will be traveling throughout the midwest and mountain states. The band has also announced their four show New Year's Eve Run, with two shows in West Hollywood and two shows in San Francisco. 

Kenya Barris and Scott Mescudi have partnered with Netflix for an all new innovative adult animated music series based on Grammy-award winning artist Kid Cudi's upcoming album, Entergalactic, being released by Republic Records.

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, the brand-new stage musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell) and a book by Philip LaZebnik (Mulan, Pocahontas) and based on the celebrated DreamWorks Animation film, today announces initial casting for its West End premiere production. Luke Brady and Liam Tamne will lead the cast as 'Moses' and 'Ramses' respectively, with Christine Allado as 'Tzipporah' and Alexia Khadime as 'Miriam'. Further casting to be announced.

 The Hip Abduction—a band fueled by African rhythms, dub spirit, and roots soul—are stoked to announce the release of To the Ends of the Earth, available everywhere on Aug. 9. This release, a sonic expedition past genre barriers, aiming to guide listeners towards anthemic bliss, is the band's fourth full-length independent album. The band, David New (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Chris Powers (Bass), Dave Johnson (Baritone, Tenor Saxophone), Cody Moore (Keyboards), Matt Poynter (Drums, Vocals), and Justino Walker (Guitar), call St. Petersburg, FL home and mined an expansive well of local and global influences to sharpen their signature style on To the Ends of the Earth. New describes the sound best as, “an ethereal journey to the ends of the earth,” after which the album was named. The band, along with producers Jackson Hoffman and Ryder Stuart, set out to create a timeless record, remembering back to their early days of informal jam sessions. “It helped us come to terms with who we are as a band, defining our sound. Netflix has ordered the variety sketch series Astronomy Club from Khalabo Ink Society and Irony Point. The six episode half-hour series will star the New York-based improv and sketch comedy group, Astronomy Club.

Nashville-based husband-wife country duo The Dryes have released their new single, 'Marley.' Co-written with Shane Stevens (Lady Antebellum's 'American Honey'), the song is ripe for summer with its reggae vibe and grooveable melodies. On July 8, the band will perform the song live in Nashville for BMI's 'Eight Off Eighth' concert series at Mercy Lunge.

BBC One, Turbine Studios and Lammas Park are proud to announce that Oscar and Bafta-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen (Widows, Twelve Years A Slave) has cast his TV series entitled Small Axe for BBC One with an all-star British cast including John Boyega and Letitia Wright. The series is executive produced by Tracey Scoffield and David Tanner for Turbine Studios and Steve McQueen for Lammas Park. Shooting began on location in London on June 24.

This summer, the 21st Annual JAW: A Playwrights Festival brings three new plays to The Armory for two weeks of script workshopping that will culminate in the JAW Big Weekend, where public staged readings of the scripts will be presented along with performances from local artists and classes. This year's plays are What Are You Worth? by Kara Lee Korthron, an adaptation of Howards End by Caroline Hewitt, and Otto Frank by Roger Guenveur Smith.
