The Lakewood Cultural Center will kick off its LCC Presents 2021-2022 season with the hilarious musical comedy 'The Drowsy Chaperone,' co-presented by Performance Now Theatre Company, Sept. 10-26. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Lee and Bessie could not be more different and, though sisters, have not seen each other for almost two decades. During that time Lee has been raising two challenging boys on her own. Bessie has been caring for their father, along with his soap opera-obsessed sister. Now the two are thrown together as Bessie has just been diagnosed with leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant.

The Colorado Theatre Guild's 14th Annual Henry Awards will take place Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, located at 10075 Commons St. Lone Tree, CO 80124. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and the awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a catered reception at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Vintage Theatre's production of Bullets Over Broadway will continue its final performances this weekend with Court Clark (pictured as the far right hot dog) in the role of David Shayne, replacing Damon Geurrasio, who stepped out due to injury. 

Sad news comes to Denver in a recent announcement made on Facebook that Lowry's Spotlight Theater will be permanently closing. The company is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary season.

Sometimes you don't need a lavish design to make a musical about Vegas play well. I mean, it would have definitely brought another level to Vintage Theatre's current musical production of Honeymoon in Vegas, but the cast is what gives this one its dazzle.

Started in 1998, Spotlight Theatre Company begins its 20th season this October. After beginning in Westminster, they made their home in the quaint 70 seat theatre in the West Colfax E-vents Center located in the heart of Lakewood and in 2008 made the move to Old Towne Lowry to the John Hand Theater in Colorado Free University.
