Vintage's BULLETS Continues Final Weekend With New Principal Casting
Vintage Theatre's production of Bullets Over Broadway will continue its final performances this weekend with Court Clark (pictured as the far right hot dog) in the role of David Shayne, replacing Damon Geurrasio, who stepped out due to injury. Clark took over the role last weekend after a cancellation Friday night.
David Shayne is a straight-arrow playwright who plans to stand firm against compromising his work but quickly abandons that stance when his producer finds a backer to mount his show on Broadway. There's just one catch, however: the backer is a mobster who sees Shayne's play as a vehicle for his ditzy, talent-free girlfriend. Throw in an aging diva, a savant hit-man and a bevy of beautiful chorus girls, and this is one Broadway show that is sure to knock 'em dead.
This musical comedy hit is loaded with big laughs, colorful characters and the songs that made the '20s roar! Based on the screenplay of the acclaimed 1994 film by Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath, this six-time Tony-nominated musical features existing hits from the 1920s, including "Let's Misbehave," "'Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do" "Up a Lazy River" and "There's a New Day Comin'!" Vintage Theatre is currently presenting the show's regional premiere.
Directed by John Ashton, The cast also includes Mary McGroary (Helen Sinclair), TJ Hogle (Cheech), Maggie Tisdale (Eden Brent), Michael O'Shea (Warner Purcell), John Gleason (Nick Valenti), Colby Dunn (Ellen), Adrianne Hampton (Olive Neal), Bernie Cardell (Julian Marx) and ensemble members James Bloom, Gabe Morales, John Mackey, Jenny Mather, Joe Lozano, Cara Lippit, Mike Martinkus, Keri Emswiller, Jessica Clayton, Kristine Bachicha, and Kaitlyn Althoff.
Performances continue Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre, 1468 Dayton St., Aurora 80010. Tickets are $19 - $38 and available online at www.vintagetheatre.org or by calling 303-856-7830. A limited number of tickets remain.
