It is intentionally strong stuff, and if it delivers, then it succeeds. And by that yardstick, this version, whatever it may or may not owe to its predecessors, is a smashing success.

by Don Grigware - May 7, 2019

Many singing artists honor their family with a CD project, but few genuinely enthuse an audience like Tiffany Bailey has just accomplished with her Jazz with Pop. Combining her intrinsic singing talents with that of her father Alan 'Buddy' Bailey, a glorious jazz trumpeteer, Jazz with Pop is a lovely laid back album including songs from the worlds of jazz, pop and beyond with fresh upbeat arrangements, making old songs totally new again. Bailey premiered her CD at Upstairs at Vitello's recently to a packed house who reveled in not only the music but in the gifted Bailey's bright unending charm and personality. When I interviewed her in March, I knew from her passionate sense of commitment to this CD that it was to be something quite special.

by Jay Irwin - Jan 11, 2019

Dear Readers, it has been one crazy year with some amazing theater. You know it's true. We've had dead teens riding a roller coaster, demonic puppets, and an ageless guy with a picture of himself in his attic. And, of course, a hip-hop founding father sweeping through town. So, let's talk about what blew me away this past year and what I have chosen to give my BWW 2018 Seattle Critic's Choice Awards (Jay's Picks) to (not to mention all those honorable mentions since often I can't limit myself to just one).

There's nothing quite like a case of mistaken identity to really spice up a relationship. This is a lesson learned the hard way for Adrianna, wife of Antipholus of Syracuse, in Shakespeare Theatre Company's newest staging of The Comedy of Errors.
