New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) presents the New York Premiere of NYTW Usual Suspect Mfoniso Udofia's runboyrun, directed by Loretta Greco (The Story), and In Old Age, directed by Awoye Timpo (Good Grief). The two plays will be performed together as one evening of work. These two new chapters of Udofia's sweeping, nine-part saga, The Ufot Cycle, build on the 2017 productions of Sojourners and Her Portmanteau, celebrating the tenacious matriarch of a Nigerian family.

The Public Theater announced the sixth season of PUBLIC STUDIO today, which will present two new works this spring. Following a sold out world premiere co-production by at Houston's Alley Theatre and New York's The Flea Theater, NSangou Njikam's hip-hop musical SYNCING INK is returning by popular demand for a one night only 'MIXTAPE' concert presentation on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at 9:30PM at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. Based on true events, SYNCING INK is directed by Jeffrey Page, the critically acclaimed choreographer behind Beyonce's 'Run the World (Girls)' and Roundabout Theatre Company's VIOLET, and produced by Victoria Weinberg.

Harlem Stage, the legendary uptown venue that for over 35 years has promoted the creative legacy of Harlem and artists of color from around the corner and across the globe, is proud to present its Spring 2019 season of performances. The season marks the 20thanniversary of Harlem Stage's signature dance program E-Moves, which for two decades has nurtured and presented choreographers of color across the spectrum of contemporary dance idioms to create new work.The season also features collaborations with exciting new partners including the Prototype Festival and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), and continued relationships with venerable arts institutions such as Repertorio Español, Carnegie Hall, Manhattan School of Music, and Chamber Music America.

Quick Silver Theater Company's (QSTC) third annual Citizen One Reading Series launches Friday November 16th.  QSTC will present staged readings of four emerging playwrights of color as part of their series.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will begin previews for the 2018 Free Shakespeare in the Park production of OTHELLO beginning Tuesday, May 29 at the Delacorte Theater, continuing a 57-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Directed by Tony Award winnerRuben Santiago-Hudson, OTHELLO will officially open on Monday, June 18 and will run through Sunday, June 24.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) have announced the winners of the 61st Annual Obie Awards. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

Atlantic Theater Company's critically acclaimed, world premiere production of Dominique Morisseau's Skeleton Crew, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, that sold out at Stage 2 earlier this season, transfered Off Broadway to Atlantic's main stage Linda Gross Theater earlier this month. Atlantic Theater Company's critically acclaimed, world premiere production of Dominique Morisseau's Skeleton Crew, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, that sold out at Stage 2 earlier this season, transfers Off Broadway to Atlantic's main stage Linda Gross Theater as performances begin tonight, Friday, May 13.
