The modern world has always seen a fascination surrounding F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel The Great Gatsby and the licentious partying, wealth, obsessive passion, and excess he painted have seeped into the 21st Century cultural landscape as a beacon of intellectual decadence. This hedonistic view of the Jazz Age and racket - no matter how historically inaccurate at times - lends itself well to an immersive experience, and pushed Alexander Wright's production based on the original material to achieve the title of longest running immersive theatre show. After debuting in London at The Vaults in 2017, it moved around a bit before settling into a bespoke venue in Mayfair last month.

The Guild of Misrule's THE GREAT GATSBY, created and directed by Alexander Wright, will transfer to its brand-new West End venue IMMERSIVE | LDN this month, with preview performances from Friday 18 October and press night on Thursday 7 November. 'The Guild Of Misrule's The Great Gatsby is a co-production with Immersive Everywhere, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Glynis Henderson Productions in association with Theatr Clwyd'.

IMMERSIVE | LDN is a 32,000sq ft historic building in the heart of Mayfair, which was home to the Queen Victoria's Rifles Association until 2017. Iris Theatre's The Tempest at St Paul's Church is an outdoor promenade production of one of Shakespeare's great comedies, though it is fairly traditional in every other way. The audience follows the actors around four different locations during the course of the show: three outdoor and one within St Paul's Church. However, despite this staging, the production feels a bit too predictable and even plain.

Following its Edinburgh Festival Fringe run, Imagine If's production of Francesca Joy's gritty new play You Forgot the Mince is touring prisons and theatres this Autumn, coming to The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, London from Tuesday 26 - Saturday 30 September 2017.

Following its 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe run at the Pleasance Courtyard (7 - 28 August, excl. 21 August), Imagine If's production of Francesca Joy's gritty new play You Forgot the Mince will tour prisons and theatres across England this Autumn.  

Following a hugely successful 2016 tour to theatres and prisons in the North of England, You Forgot the Mince, presented by Imagine If and written by Francesca Joy, will run at The Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 7 - 28 August 2017 (excl. 21 August).

Lazarus Theatre Company's 'Tis Pity She's a Whore has opened at Soho's Tristan Bates Theatre. This production merges John Ford's gory and uncomfortable 17th century classic with the current trend for immersive theatre - once in the auditorium, audience members are greeted by a butler, who proffers a tray of wine. Even the traverse format of the staging, with a large table placed centre stage, seems to invite the audience to take part in this notoriously taboo drama.

Following last year's sell out production of The Tragedy of Mariam, Lazarus returns to the Tristan Bates Theatre and to the Camden Fringe for the fifth time. Shakespeare's exhilarating love story, Troilus and Cressida and Coriolanus a gripping examination of power and corruption, come together for Our World at War.
