Lazarus Theatre Company Announce Streaming Of SALOME From Southwark Playhouse

Committed to supporting the future of accessible digital theatre, the matinee performance will be streamed with live captioning at 3.30pm and the evening performance will be streamed at 8pm.

Lazarus Theatre Company to Bring SALOME To Southwark Playhouse

Originally banned in Britain, Wilde's outrageously provocative Salomé comes to Southwark Playhouse after an original run at Greenwich Theatre in 2019. This immersive new version sits the audience at Herod's banqueting table on his birthday, but the lavish affair with innocuous cake and party hats soon descends from garish to gore.

BWW Review: THE GREAT GATSBY, Immersive LDN

The modern world has always seen a fascination surrounding F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel The Great Gatsby and the licentious partying, wealth, obsessive passion, and excess he painted have seeped into the 21st Century cultural landscape as a beacon of intellectual decadence. This hedonistic view of the Jazz Age and racket - no matter how historically inaccurate at times - lends itself well to an immersive experience, and pushed Alexander Wright's production based on the original material to achieve the title of longest running immersive theatre show. After debuting in London at The Vaults in 2017, it moved around a bit before settling into a bespoke venue in Mayfair last month.

BWW Review: THE TEMPEST, St Paul's Church

Iris Theatre's The Tempest at St Paul's Church is an outdoor promenade production of one of Shakespeare's great comedies, though it is fairly traditional in every other way. The audience follows the actors around four different locations during the course of the show: three outdoor and one within St Paul's Church. However, despite this staging, the production feels a bit too predictable and even plain.

Jamie Newall, Paul Brendan, and More to Star in Iris Theatre's THE TEMPEST

Paul Brendan (Faithful Ruslan - The Story of a Guard Dog, Belgrade Theatre and Citizen's Theatre; Julius Caesar, The Tobacco Factory; Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare's Globe), Charlotte Christensen (Gate; Cockpit Theatre; The Little Match Girl, Tabard Theatre; The Divide, Old Vic Theatre), Reginald Edwards (A Peril of the Sea, Lakeside Theatre; You're Human Like the Rest of Them, Finborough Theatre; King Lear, Royal & Derngate), Linford Johnson (Pinocchio, National Theatre; Show Boat, Sheffield Crucible and New London Theatre; Macbeth, St. Paul's Church), Prince Plockey (H.R.Haitch, Union Theatre; You Forgot The Mince, Edinburgh Fringe and UK Tour; The Life and Death of Martin Luther King, European Tour), Jamie Newall (Another Country, Queen's Theatre; The Woman In Black, Fortune Theatre; RSC's Richard III, Australian Tour) and Joanne Thomson (In Plain Sight, ITV; The Whip Hand, Traverse Theatre and Birmingham Rep; The Suffragettes: How Women Got The Vote; BBC) will star in Iris Theatre's The Tempest which opens their enchanting outdoor season.

Full Cast Announced for H.R.Haitch

Christian James (The Commitments, UK Tour; NewsRevue, Canal Cafe Theatre; Princess Caraboo, Finborough Theatre), Emily Jane Kerr (Tomorrow, Maybe, Union Theatre; What Is Love?, Southwark Playhouse; NewsRevue, Canal Cafe Theatre), Andrea Miller (Billy Elliot, UK and Ireland Tour; Pass The Porter, The Spa Bridlington; Fables and Fairytales, The Spa Bridlington), Christopher Lyne (Romeo and Juliet, Wilde Theatre; Robin Hood The Pantomime, Peepul Centre; The Hired Man, Union Theatre) and Prince Plockey (Future Voices, Southwark Playhouse; You Forgot The Mince, Edinburgh Fringe 2017 and UK Tour; Tis Pity She's A Whore, Tristan Bates Theatre) will join Tori Allen-Martin in H.R.Haitch - a hilarious and charming new musical for princesses and paupers alike.

BWW Review: 'TIS PITY SHE'S A WHORE, Tristan Bates Theatre Theatre, 29 August 2016

Lazarus Theatre Company's 'Tis Pity She's a Whore has opened at Soho's Tristan Bates Theatre. This production merges John Ford's gory and uncomfortable 17th century classic with the current trend for immersive theatre - once in the auditorium, audience members are greeted by a butler, who proffers a tray of wine. Even the traverse format of the staging, with a large table placed centre stage, seems to invite the audience to take part in this notoriously taboo drama.

Full Casting Announcement Made for Lazarus Theatre Company's TROILUS AND CRESSIDA and CORIOLANUS

Following last year's sell out production of The Tragedy of Mariam, Lazarus returns to the Tristan Bates Theatre and to the Camden Fringe for the fifth time. Shakespeare's exhilarating love story, Troilus and Cressida and Coriolanus a gripping examination of power and corruption, come together for Our World at War.
