THE MAD LOVER IN ME IS THE CRAZY ARTIST IN YOU Set for Dixon Place Tonight

The Mad Lover In Me Is The Crazy Artist In You, based on the real-life adventures of two eccentric expatriates who find love in New York City and transform their private lives into a public exhibit of mischief and art, will play Dixon Place tonight, July 10. Directed by Zach Udko and performed by Filip Noterdaeme and Daniel Isengart. Featuring Penny Arcade, with special appearances by Phoebe Legere and Flotilla DeBarge.

Tickets: $12 in advance, $15 at the door, $10 students/seniors. This madcap cabaret-style romp chronicles the real-life adventures of two eccentric expatriates who find love in New York City and transform their private lives into a public exhibit of mischief and art. With the spirits of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas guiding them, they soon become intimately involved with many of the most influential figures of the New York art scene (and some of its nightlife's finest creatures) as they shake the city to its core with their unconventional creative bond. About The Artists:

Filip Noterdaeme is the founder and director of the Homeless Museum of Art (HOMU), a pastiche of the contemporary art museum. He lives in New York City, where he teaches art history at the New School, New York University, and CUNY, lectures at the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum, and writes a blog about art for The Huffington Post. His conceptual memoir, The Autobiography of Daniel J. Isengart, written in the style of Gertrude Stein's The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas, was published in March 2013 by Outpost19.

Daniel Isengart is a New York City-based performer specializing in contemporary adaptations of the continental Weimar cabaret style. His solo acts have been presented at countless performance venues including Joe's Pub, BAMCafé, and Galapagos Art Space. He has also been featured at The Museum of Modern Art, Café Sabarsky, The Philadelphia Museum, SF MoMA, the Cleveland Museum of Modern Art, and New York's Museum Mile Festival.

Zach Udko is a Senior Lecturer at New York University, where he teaches writing courses at Tisch School of the Arts. A former Dramatists Guild Fellow, his plays have been produced in New York, California, and England. As a lyricist and performer, his music has appeared on MTV2, LOGO, Fuse, and Spike TV. A graduate of Stanford University (BA and MA, English) and New York University (MFA, Dramatic Writing), Zach has also been a theater critic for BackStage West and is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post. He is delighted to be returning to Dixon Place and the HOT! Festival, where he premiered the electro-pop musical Like This But Sexy.

Penny Arcade is an American performance artist, actress, and playwright based in New York City with a long association with the avant-garde. She has performed with John Vaccaro's Playhouse of the Ridiculous and appeared in Andy Warhol'sWomen in Revolt. She collaborated with many underground theatre artists, including Jack Smith, Charles Ludlam and Quentin Crisp. Her show, Bitch! Dyke! Faghag! Whore! toured internationally throughout the 90's and was recently revived in London. Arcade is a co-founder of the Lower East Side Biography Project.

Phoebe Legere is an internationally acclaimed experimental transmedia artist. She has created hundreds of live art performances, hundreds of songs, two full-length musicals, an opera, a Symphony and has done thousands of visual art works. Maestro Legere's most recent art is ride-able musical sculpture that combines all art forms and uses renewable energy. She is a lesbian feminist artist of Native American and French Canadian descent. The Maestro has been called "a prophet" and a "genius" and her newest musical opens Nov. 28, 2013 at Theater for the New City.

Flotilla DeBarge is a New York-based actor, singer and drag performer. She has appeared on Broadway, in Roundabout Theater's production of The Three Penny Opera, in film,Wigstock - the Movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, and Friends and Family, and on television, Law & Order, Sex & the City and Angels in America for HBO. Flotilla can be heard on The Beatles Complete on Ukulele with the song "Carry the weight" and seen in the youtube parody of Mickey Avalon's "My Dick", "My Ass" by P-Flo.
