On Tuesday, November 15, Singing OnStage Productions will hold a private reading in Manhattan of a new musical titled Nightfall, with book, music, and lyrics by Caleb Hoyer. Hoyer is a graduate of NYU's composition department and has served as music director and pianist for many productions, including the hit cabaret series If It Only Even Runs a Minute.

An original fairy tale, Nightfall concerns a prince who falls in love with a mysterious young woman, appearing deep in the woods late at night. The prince, Lucas, discovers that the woman, Irene, exists in a state somewhere between life and death, but can be seen only by those who have never met her. She employs a sorceress who can make her fully living. In exchange however, someone else must lose their life.

Reading the roles of the young lovers will be Jason Michael Snow as Lucas and CrystAl Mosser as Irene. The King and Queen will be played by Jamie Jackson and Joan Hess, while Lucas's steward will be read by Kenny Franceour.

Sandy Binion will play Hazel, Irene's mother and Anne Bobby will read the role of the sorceress Alexis. Mark Aldrich and MK Lawson will play various ensemble roles.

The reading will be directed by Singing OnStage Artistic Director Richard Biever (Smile, Harmony, Kansas, Side by Side by Sondheim), with casting by Jen Ajemian and Robin Carus of J&R Creative.

The mission of Singing OnStage is to foster and develop new, compelling musical theatre. For more information, visit www.SingingOnStageProductions.com.
