Is equality a state of mind or state of affairs? Can gender ever be freed from the masculine/feminine paradigm? The patriarchal state may seem a thing of the past but what if the struggle for power and survival make it our future. Inspired by the "HeForShe" Campaign, a first of its kind, which acknowledges the need for men in the women's movement, A.N.O.N. Productions is proud to present a new take on HAMLET, set in the near future. In a militarized surveillance state, can a woman be in charge? This gender-bending equality driven take on HAMLET will premiere under St. Mark's (94 St. Mark's Place) November 12th -14th at 2 and 7pm, and at The Kraine (85 East 4th Street) November 15th - 17th.

"If we stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by what we are-we can all be freer and this is what HeForShe is about. It's about freedom." - Emma Watson, Ambassador, "HeForShe Campaign"

Directed by Ashley Griffin and featuring: Michael Bauer*, Annabel Capper*, Jennifer-Elizabeth Cooper, Nevin Edmundson, Ashley Griffin*, Kari Grunberg*, James Luse*, Brian McCormack*, Danielle Sacks* and Ian Way*.

Our Hamlet is a woman raised to be a man and ruthless leader. Our Ophelia is a man, bullied for being too gentle. All sexes being equal, who has the power?
