Catherine Russell is about to be the first actress in theater history ever to reach a milestone 30 years performing in the same role, in the Off-Broadway play, Perfect Crime.

Out-running hundreds of big Broadway shows, this play has managed to withstand the test of time. For three decades, in fact. It will celebrate its 30th birthday on April 18 - a feat no other Off-Broadway show has accomplished.

Enduring seven election seasons, 9/11, the subsequent worst recession since the Great Depression, mixed Yelp reviews, industry folks confounded by the fact that it is still around, and the many critics, Perfect Crime, a small murder mystery with a cast of five, still remains open for business with its lead actress Catherine Russell at the helm - for 12,318 performances.

Russell has performed in the show since it opened in 1987 - having never missed a performance - which has earned her a Guinness Book World Record. She's been dubbed "Off-Broadway's Force of Nature" by the Associated Press, "Off-Broadway's Leading Lady" by Forbes Magazine and the Cal Ripken of Off-Broadway.

Outside of Perfect Crime, Catherine is a producer of The Fantasticks. When she is not performing eight times a week, managing the theater center in which both shows run and which she built from scratch, she teaches at NYU, Baruch, and runs an acting studio with Rob Sedgwick (Kyra Sedgwick's brother). She also takes out the trash each night, mops the floors and changes the light bulbs.
