The Park Theatre will debut its 11th season of presenting free movies to the Monadnock region on July 11th with the showing of one of the most acclaimed animated films of all time, Toy Story.

A few changes become effective with the new summer schedule of free films. After a very successful 10 year run at the Jaffrey Woman's Club, the films will now be presented at The Park Theatre's interim theatre, the River Street Theatre (RST). The free movie day will be Tuesdays and guests will have the choice of seeing each film as a matinee (2pm) or evening show (7pm).

Seven additional films will make up the 2017 Free Movie Festival season:

Footlose (7/18)

Growing Up Smith (7/25)

The Intern (8/1)

Moonstruck (8/8)

Space Cowboys (8/15)

Secondhand Lions (8/22)

October Sky (8/29)

"Our 11th season is a collection of classics, comedy and drama as well as films for children and families. We thank the Jaffrey Woman's Club for their most gracious gift of allowing us to present films at their beautiful venue for 10 years. We also thank La Mia Casa Pizzeria in Peterborough for presenting two of our free films each season for the past two years. As we draw near to building our new theatre and with the opening our interim theatre in January of this year, it made sense to move the festival to the RST. We are so proud of the events and movies we present to the community. Close to 14,000 people have attended our free movies and other presentations (operas, plays, speakers, concerts) over the past ten years. This summer's free films will once again provide a great service for our town, our summer residents and our visitors." said Steve Jackson, CEO and Managing Director of The Park Theatre.

Tickets for the Free Movie Festival are just that... FREE, however, due to the intimate nature of the RST theatre, free ticket reservations are encouraged. They can be made by going to riverst.org/calendar or by calling (603) 532-8888. Tickets can also be reserved 7 days a week by calling OvationTix at 1-866-811-4111.

The Park Theatre first opened in Jaffrey in 1922 and was the center of community life as a movie and vaudeville house for 54 years until it closed in 1976. Purchased by The Park Theatre, Inc. in 2006, it will be rebuilt as a state-of-the-art film and performing arts center, featuring two auditoriums seating 485, presenting movies, live theatre (including children's productions), concerts, and lectures as well as offering a place for business and community gatherings for the Monadnock Region and its 100,000 residents, school districts and dynamic artistic community. The new theatre is scheduled to be opened in 2018.

The Park Theatre operates the River Street Theatre, a small live entertainment and movie venue located adjacent to the construction site as an interim theatre until the new Park Theatre opens.
