The New Hampshire Theatre Project presents Dreaming Again, written and directed by Genevieve Aichele with music by Agnes Charlesworth, April 13-15. Dreaming Again is an original dramatic play based on stories of Granite State immigrants and refugees who have resettled in New Hampshire over the past 100 years. Drawn from interviews with 30 different contemporary immigrants, as well as literary and historic sources, Dreaming Again celebrates both the joys and difficulties of arriving as a stranger and learning how to be a citizen in your new home. As a recent immigrant says so eloquently: Like a child, I am teaching myself how to dream again.

Commissioned by the NH Humanities CouncilDreaming Again is the culminating project in their three-year Fences & Neighbors initiative. The play will premiere in Portsmouth at NHTP, and then tour to seven other venues throughout New Hampshire. NHTP artistic director Genevieve Aichele will direct Dreaming Again, assisted by Lydia White-Spunner. Actors include Dan Acor, Heather Glenn Wixson, Indira Leal, and CJ Lewis. Traditional music will be arranged by music director Agnes Charlesworth who will perform along with Peter Motson, Theo Martey and Cynthia Chatis. Lighting & scenic design by Meghann Beauchamp, costume design by Michele Macadaeg, stage management by Lindsey Nelson. Dreaming Again is recommended for ages 10 and up
for its mature emotional content.

There will be short post-performance Q&A after every production of Dreaming Again.  Following the 2pmperformance on Sunday, April 15, the NH Humanities Council will host a forum with panelists David Watters, Blake Gumprecht and Karin Barndollar.
