Dorks in Dungeons LIVE! Onstage, the dice-rolling fantasy improv comedy roleplaying troupe is back for a second season and is bigger and better than ever. Dorks in Dungeons has been picked up as part of The Seacoast Repertory Theater's Red Light Series and will hold their once-monthly show on Sundays this season at 7pm starting tonight, September 22.

"We've been working really hard, and we're better at this than we've ever been," says Game Master BrIan Kelly. "I think if you saw the show last year, this year will blow you away."

Dorks in Dungeons started last summer as a one-time event at The Players' Ring. After meeting with some success they were picked up for the remainder of The Players' Ring season before being asked to join the Rep for Season 2. They were awarded an Editor's Pick for best Improv Comedy in NH from New Hampshire Magazine's Best of NH. They even wrote a book, The Dorks in Dungeons Campaign Guide and Roleplaying Game.

Most recently, they have returned from Indianapolis Indiana, where they performed at GenCon, the largest gaming convention in the world. This year, they are looking to take it even further.
"We've had a whole year to really refine what we do, and the new space opens up all sorts of possibilities in terms of movement and lighting and sound," says Producer Kathleen Cavalaro "We've had a few great additions to the cast and crew, we found a great season sponsor in Pickwick's Mercantile, and I think we're all really excited just to get back into it again."

The new season will feature a social hour before the show, where guests can browse various vendors, play games, and enjoy beverages before entering the theater for the performance. All shows will have a pay-what-you-can approach to admission.

"We would much rather have you there than not there because of a pricing issue," says Producer and Performer Brian Paul. "We're happy just to be being funny in front of people"

Dorks in Dungeons is inspired by games like Dungeons & Dragons, a rule-intensive role-playing dice game where players create imaginary characters in a fantasy world and set off on quests - all controlled by the Game Master. Game Master BrIan Kelly leads the Dorks' adventurers (played by Brian Paul, Teddi Bailey, Cullen Delangie, and Molly Dowd Sullivan and more) through battles, challenges, skill checks and more while a troupe of improvisors acts as the denizens of the fantasy world. Improvisers include Michael Ficara, Glenn Provost, Robin Fowler, Kevin Baringer and Jess Miller with special guest appearances throughout the year from Seacoast favorites.

Dorks in Dungeons LIVE! Onstage contains language and adult themes and is not recommended for children.
