Meredith Vieira Productions has announced additional winter dates for the national tour of James Braly's critically acclaimed one-man show LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION (20 Years of Monogamy In One Terrifying Hour). The acclaimed monologist and "This American Life" contributor, likened to a new Spalding Gray, travels to Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO on February 18, 2012 (presented with Theatre Aspen) and Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs, CO February 25-26, 2012.

LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is an autobiographical dark comedy that cuts back and forth between the deathbed wedding of Braly's sister and his own hilarious marital adventures of 20 high-conflict years…or as thirteen couples counselors called it, "a passionate, bi-polar relationship." In development with Meredith Vieira Productions as a TV series, with Braly adapting the live show for screen, Life in a Marital Institution is also a forthcoming memoir from St. Martin's Press.

LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION kicked off its national tour at The Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia in July 2011 after playing to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim Off-Broadway, where it was a New York Times Critics' Pick. It has since traveled to Colorado, Chicago, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Austin.

In addition to This American Life, Braly stories have been broadcast nationally on NPR and Marketplace. His full-length monologue, The Monthly Nut, directed by Seth Barrish (director of the Off Broadway hit, Sleepwalk with Me) is in development at The Barrow Group Theatre.

The national tour of LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION is produced by (former TODAY co-anchor) Meredith Vieira and Amy Rapp of Meredith Vieira Productions.
