Lauded for nearly two decades for their tremendous vocal talents and for giving women voice through the performance of quality choral literature from women composers, acclaimed women's choral ensemble VOX Femina Los Angeles will once again enchant concert-goers with "VOX Rocks!"

The enjoyable evening of music will take place at Downtown Los Angeles' Zipper Hall at the Colburn School (200 South Grand Avenue) starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 11.

In the past, VOX Femina (Latin for "female voice") has been referred to as a "popular force" by Pasadena Weekly and offering a "bright, balanced sound" according to The Los Angeles Times.

Throughout the concert, which will close out its 2015-2016 Season, VOX Femina will pay tribute to some of the most gifted and pioneering rock artists of the last 50 years lending its stellar voice to imaginative interpretations of stripped down classics from the 60s to popular hits from today.

Some of the rock icons honored during the show include David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Queen, Adele, Lady Gaga, and the Indigo Girls, as well as various other artists and bands revered for their legacy in the music industry.

"The June concert is going to be great fun for the chorus and the audience," says Helen Mendoza, a singer and performer with VOX Femina. "We get to showcase our versatility as an ensemble, and show our audience a side of VOX that's really different. Who doesn't dream of being a rockstar at one time or another?"

Also joining VOX on-stage will be none other than special guest Vicki Peterson of The Bangles.

Peterson is best known for being a founding member and the lead guitarist of the hit 80s rock band fronted by Susanna Hoffs, best known for classics such as "Walk Like An Egyptian" and "Manic Monday."

"Vicki Peterson is an iconic legend for so many of us," says Dr. Iris Levine, Founder and Artistic Director of VOX Femina Los Angeles. "From 'Walk Like An Egyptian' to 'We Belong,' The Bangles have contributed significantly to the fabric of women in Rock and Roll. I have known Vicki for years and am so happy that we will share the stage with this phenomenal musician!"
