Multi-platinum-selling country singer and songwriter Sara Evans brings her empowering songs and life-affirming music to Pepperdine University's Smothers Theatre in Malibu on Thursday, September 22 at 8 p.m.

Tickets, priced starting at $40 for the public and $10 for full-time Pepperdine students, are available now by calling (310) 506-4522 or online at http://arts.pepperdine.edu/. More information about Sara Evans available at http://saraevans.com/

Opening for Sara Evans will be the up-and-coming SoCal-native country band Temecula Road, chosen by The Huffington Post as one of the top country artists to watch in 2016.

Called "one of the most compelling vocalists of her generation," Sara Evans recently released her highly anticipated seventh studio album Slow Me Down in 2014, the title track creating her biggest first week Country radio-added single ever, named by Billboard as one of the "10 Best Country Singles of 2013."

Slow Me Down was co-produced with Mark Bright (Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, and Carrie Underwood) who Evans last worked with on her Platinum-selling #1 Country album Real Fine Place (2005). Slow Me Down saw Evans collaborating on three tracks "Better Off" with Country legend Vince Gill, "Can't Stop Loving You" a duet with Isaac Slade of The Fray and a cover of Gavin DeGraw's "Not Over You," which features Gavin singing harmonies.

Sara recently signed with the Nashville-based imprint Sugar Hill Records, and is currently working on her debut project for the label, set to release in early 2017.

"It doesn't have to be in any specific genre and that's what I'm excited about," says Sara. "I can sing really country and mountainy bluegrass, mostly because that's what I was raised on, and how I first loved to sing. I definitely do have that. However, I can sing pop, country, blues and anything as long as it is a song that moves me...On all of my albums, I've covered a broad range of songs but I think I'm most excited to give them another look at Sara Evans. I'm not becoming a different artist, I'm just excited to show my fans even more of me."

Since emerging in the late 1990s, Evans has had a prolific recording career that has seen the sale of more then 6 million albums. She's had five #1 songs, four others appearing in the Top 10, two #1 Billboard Country Albums, five appearing on Billboard's Top 200 all-genre chart and four consecutive RIAA certified Gold, Platinum or Multi-Platinum albums. She's received awards from the Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music, Billboard Music Award and has garnered nominations for Grammy Awards (2), American Country Awards (10) and CMT Music Awards (5).

Sara won the hearts of America as the first country artist to compete in ABC's Dancing with the Stars. She was also chosen as one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People." In addition to her music, Evans is an accomplished author of three books with co-writer Rachel Hauck and writes a lifestyle blog, "A Real Fine Place," with her sister-in-law Kaelin "K.K" Evans where they share their passion for fashion, beauty, travel and food.

Always interested and involved in charitable efforts, Sara has been an active member of the American Red Cross' National Celebrity Cabinet since 2005 and was presented with the national Crystal Cross for her work with the organization.
