SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's Spencer Liff Nominated for 2012 Emmy Award

Spencer Liff, Los Angeles based choreographer for such shows as Musical Theatre West's The Wedding Singer and the Lythgoe's A Snow White Christmas at the El Portal, has been nominated today for an Emmy Award for his work on the smash-hit Fox series "So You Think You Can Dance" in the category of "Outstanding Choreography!"

Spencer Liff work has been seen on the last three seasons of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance," as well as "Dancing with the Stars," "How I Met Your Mother," and "Parks and Recreation." This past season, his theater choreography credits included Two Gentleman of Verona: A Rock Opera for The Shakespeare Theatre Company of DC, The Wedding Singer for Musical Theater West, A Snow White Christmas for the Lythgoe Family Productions' Panto series, and he recently completed work on two brand new shows for the :Disney Fantasy: A Fantasy Come True" and "An Unforgettable Journey." Upcoming work includes a production of Oliver at the Human Rights Theatre, and a reading of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever at Musical Theatre West, which he is directing and choreographing.

Past theatre choreography credits include Saturday Night Fever for Royal Caribbean, Broadway By The Year 2010 at Town Hall in NYC, and Gypsy of the Year with Daniel Radcliffe. As a performer, Spencer has been seen on Broadway in 9 to 5, Equus, Cry-baby (2008 Astaire Award winner for best Male Dancer on Broadway), The Wedding Singer, Big the Musical, and the 1st national tour of The Will Rogers Follies. Spencer can be seen in the NBC TV series SMASH, and the recent remake of Footloose. Other film credits include Hairspray (Mikey), Across The Universe (Daniel), and Gypsy with Bette Midler. He has danced for two Presidents of the United States, and performed on The Academy Awards, The Grammys, The Tonys, and The Kennedy Center Honors.
