Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will conclude their 20th Anniversary Season with the classic Broadway musical THE PAJAMA GAME. The one-night-only concert will take place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 7:00 PM.

Based on Richard Bissel's novel 7-1/2 Cents, THE PAJAMA GAME is a true classic from the Golden Age of Musicals that rarely sees a professional staging. The story deals with a labor dispute at the Sleep-Tite pajama factory where workers' demands for a 7-1/2 cent raise are going unheeded. In the midst of the ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the grievance committee leader, and Sid, the new factory supervisor. However, what really places THE PAJAMA GAME in the rare canon of true classics is the Richard Adler and Jerry Ross' remarkable score. "Hey There", "Steam Heat", "Hernando's Hideaway", "Once a Year Day", "There Once Was a Man" and "I'm Not At All In Love" are just a few of its riches.

Leading the cast are Musical Theatre Guild company members Shannon Warne (Babe), Damon Kirsche (Sid), Jason Graae (Hines), Leslie Stevens (Gladys), Tracy Lore (Mabel), Doug Carfrae (Hasler), John Massey (Prez) and Chuck Bergman (Pop). Additional MTG company members in the cast include Barbara Carlton Heart, Glenn Rosenblum and Jennifer Shelton, with guest artists Jenni Baker, Cedric Dodd, Ryan J. Driscoll, Melissa Glasgow, Tanner Richins and Kyra Selman. THE PAJAMA GAME will be directed by Lewis Wilkenfeld with musical direction by Corey Hirsch and choreography by Daniel Smith, and is under the production supervision of Jeffrey Christopher Todd.

THE PAJAMA GAME was first produced on Broadway in 1954, running 1,063 performances and winning three Tony Awards including Best Musical. It was subsequently revived on Broadway in 1972 and 2006 (Tony Award - Best Revival).

The Alex Theatre is located at 216 N. Brand Blvd in downtown Glendale, CA. Single tickets are available by logging onto www.musicaltheatreguild.com or by calling 818-243-ALEX. The 2016-2017 MTG season will be announced shortly.
