En garde!  Alexandre Dumas’ timeless epic, The Three Musketeers, comes to the Melodrama stage in an adaptation by Kit Wilder that is full of "daring duels and fast paced adventure. With direction by Katie Mack-Montenegro, set design by BrIan Williams, costume design by Renee Van Niel, and fight choreography by MR. Wilder, this swashbuckling adventure follows a band of heroes in 17th century Paris who set out to defend the French Queen's honor and save her country from war."

In the French province of Gascony, a young peasant, D'Artagnan (Matthew Steven Lawrence), dreams of fighting alongside The Musketeers, the elite force who serve the King of France (Billy Breed).  Arriving in Paris, D’Artagnan soon meets the hardiest, wittiest and most reckless of The Musketeers, Athos (George Walker), Porthos (Jake McGuire) and Aramis (Bobby Banuelos).  Initially challenged to a duel by each of these three Musketeers, when D’Artagnan and the others are attacked by the Cardinal's guards, they join forces and escape. Soon after, The Musketeers discover an evil conspiracy by Cardinal Richelieu (Sean Peters) and his agents, Rochefort (Steven Freitas) and the sly Milady de Winter (Leah Kolb), to overthrow the King by discrediting his wife, Queen Anne of Austria (Crystal Davidson). The Queen has received a gift of jewelry from her husband, but aided by her assistant, Constance (Megan C.C. Walker) and D’Artagnan, Anne gives the diamonds to her lover, the Duke of Buckingham, as a keepsake. The Cardinal, hoping to start a war between France and England, learns of this and coaxes the French king to hold a ball where the queen must wear the jewelry; its absence revealing her infidelity. Together, the three Musketeers and D’Artagnan become entangled in a tale of political intrigue, scandalous liaisons, murderous espionage and undying love. This coming-of-age story about upholding one’s honor with unwavering devotion to friends and countrymen reminds us that love, honor, courage, and friendship are classic themes that never go out of style!
